Batman vs. 40K Space Marine

Sevatar, Prince of Crows, First Captain of the Night Lords space marine legion, is transported to comic book Gotham (mainstream DC continuity).

Sevatar is transported shortly after the Lion slashes open Konrad Curze's throat, sending Curze into a near-death coma.

ROB informs Sevatar that to ensure his primarch's recovery (and to return to his native universe), Sevatar must cleanse Gotham of corruption. By ROB decree, Sevatar's repressed psyker powers function in the DCU. Sevatar has his chain glaive and a flaying knife - but no power armour.

The mutilated bodies of Gotham criminals start turning up. Batman takes notice and realises that he could be facing something, or perhaps someone, much deadlier than the likes of Bane or the Joker.

What happens? Batman may request JLA assistance if it would be in character for him to do so in this situation. He may even temporarily cooperate with certain villains if necessary.

BONUS SCENARIO: Sevatar has power armour

Honestly, Batman stands to lose against the Space Marine even without his armor. With it, the Space Marine ROFLstomps.

Although, you did specify that Batman can call in League assistance. At which point it becomes a stomp in the opposite direction.

Bruce is a dead man. The Space Marine should be roughly on par if not superior in terms of combat skill, is hugely physically superior even out of power armor, and has centuries of experience and knowledge to call on.

You can make an argument against your average run of the mill space marine which have been depicted to jobb and lose to regular guardsman even in close combat

But man...you picked freaking sevatar....that guy is - arguably - one of the top 2 fighters who is not a primarch pre heresy...

Yeah, I would say in a random encounter, Batman get humiliated. With the armor it's a stomp. Calling in the JLA would turn it in the opposite direction. Or if he's able to deduce who he's fighting before hand and prep for Sevatar, then Batman wins.

The likelihood is that Batman would confront the Space Marine and be handily defeated narrowly making an escape some way or another. He'd then come back prepared and with a contingency and almost certainly defeat the Space Marine.

it were some chaos marines who jobbed against gaunts ghost 5 man team - ibram gaunt singlehandely cut through the captains armor with the sword of sondar

ghosts had some backup from local native citizens tho. but nothing which would not make the entire scenario not cringeworthy

In a random encounter any normal Space Marine would have Bats beat pretty bad. Let alone Sevatar of all people. Only if he survives, therefore getting prep and some knowledge would he win

I would just love to see what Konrad Curze would do to Gotham. If I was rich I would literally pay for a movie of it.

1) Hellbat, Justice Buster or Insider Suit

2) Help from the JL

I'm a 40k fan and yet Servitar is a unknown to me. Also for best fighters we have Lucious, Kharn, Loken, and few others to vie for that honor.
