I saw the movie and now i have a question - Since Superman ''died'' just to kill Doomsday in the movie what the hell is he going to do later against Darkseid? Of course he will have more Justice League members to help him but its basically again just him and maybe Green Lantern - the others are just for show when it comes to universal powered enemies.
What will Superman do against Darkseid if he can't even face Doomsday?
Was Wonderwoman that weak? And isn't Doomsday as or more powerful than Darkseid in direct combat? And can't we use that material that hurts new gods. And can't we BFR him. And can't we get Orion to help. And can we stop worrying about powerlevels the filmmakers care little about and aren't the biggest flaw these movies have.
@doflamingogt: In the Pre-52, an Avatar of Darkseid got destroyed by Doomsday. The real one would have probably lost as well.
In the New-52, they haven't met yet.
Eh, I'd disagree. The only one that may be useless during the fight with Darkseid is Batman.
Btw, I can't wait for all the city busting that Snyder will have Darkseid cause. He'll sneeze and whatever city/area they are at will be destroyed. /sarcasm
More than likely Darkseid will be less powerful than his comic counterpart. I expect a fight between the JL and Darkseid to be a total team effort.
i think it's still quite clear that Superman is a rookie hero at the BvS point. Sure he's saved people from fires, etc... but against super powered threats... he's only really fought Faora and Zod before (she kicked his ass, and zod, whilst actually a closer fight, still had Kal's number). He needs some actual combat training. He, to this point, appears to have none. Perhaps WW can help train him up a bit... she's badass.
Doomsday wasn't totally evolved. And Darkseid isn't stronger than DD since DD has beat him in HP Doomsday and Pre 52.
Help his team get the win, most likely.
I think the actual origin in the comic saw that Wonder Woman and Aquaman are there for more than just show. Green Lantern and Supes will be the heavy-hitters as far as body shot go, while Arthur and Diana do lasting, visible damage.
Batman will get out of the way, and likely hang with Flash doing crowd control or helping Cyborg get his powers under control. Superman will probably get the last shot in that sends DS back home.
Well, he is going to do like he always does because Doomsday is in direct combat a bigger threat than Darkseid has ever been. However things might be different in the cinematic universe.
I'm of the opinion that Superman still hasn't discovered the limits of his power. Remember, in MoS, Jor-El told him to keep pushing his limits. After resurrecting, I think Kal-El will realize he's more powerful than he has imagined. Let's hope the rest of the world doesn't flip out when this becomes obvious and try to kill him... again. It will be interesting to see how Clark is affected when he finds out just how difficult it is for him to actually be destroyed.
Superman will probably get more powerful. Also, in the movies the power levels are not necessarily the same as they are in the comics.
I think it will be kind of like in New 52.
Superman should never be able to face Darkseid one on one. That's Loeb's BS and from the animated series (best comic book animated series ever with Batman TAS, but they totally screwed the New Gods)
It will take the entire League to remove him (not beat him) like in the comics, as it should.
And lol at Aquaman, Wonder Woman and Flash being just there for show. They all play an important role. That's the point.
That's why Superman being able to face Darkseid one on one is beyond stupid.
@doflamingogt: Are you forgetting Wonder Woman? She did better against Doomsday than Superman did. And if you remember the New 52 comics, Wonder Woman was the one who led the charge against Darkseid. She blinded his first eye and stunned him long enough for Aquaman to get the second. Superman isn't the only heavy hitter here, and he is by no means the best.
Doomsday wasn't totally evolved. And Darkseid isn't stronger than DD since DD has beat him in HP Doomsday and Pre 52.
The DCEU is based on the New 52. In the New 52, Darkseid completely outclasses Doomsday, who was ripped into two pieces by Superman. In contrast Darkseid destroyed an entire planet as a side effect of fighting Highfather.
I think it's going to be like the New 52 as well. They're going to have to use team work. I don't want everyone to be dumbed down for Batman to seem smarter like certain writers. Batman can help the people. I love Batman with all my heart, but he should not be able to avoid the Omega Beams or anything like that.
This franchise will not get to that part of story !!! Maybe one more movie and all project will be closed !!!
Against Darkseid he'll have three more superheroes to help him. Besides, isn't Doomsday more physically powerful than Darkseid anyway?
@hocko1999_virus: Darkseid would stomp Doomsday.
This franchise will not get to that part of story !!! Maybe one more movie and all project will be closed !!!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Batfelck will teach him....what it means to be a man......how to fight.
Lol.
This franchise will not get to that part of story !!! Maybe one more movie and all project will be closed !!!
Want to know why you are wrong? Because they have already shot Suicide Squad and they are almost finished with Wonder Woman. That means they will release at least those two movies.
Despite the reviews, Batman v Superman is making tons of money, this will keep the universe going. This gives DC the chance to win back the critics with either SS or WW. They will both make money no doubt, and with Wonder Woman being one of the highlights of BvS that the critics actually liked, it will most likely do very well and restore the trust fans have in DC. It will also be a good lead in to the JL.
I fully expect Darkseid in these movies to be every bit as powerful as his New 52 counterpart. As such, it will take a team effort to bring him down... hence the Justice League.
I'm surprised at nobody's taking into account that Superman was also weakened by the kryptonite spear hence his screaming while lunging at Doomsday(real world reason is Zack Snyder's scream fetish). And also Doomsday was getting stronger each time they made an attack on him.
Like in the comics, the chief reason why Wonder Woman did better against Doomsday than Superman is because she's a superior fighter. She has skills, training, and experience whereas Superman does not. Superman fighting Doomsday is essentially like fighting himself, but stronger and without the ability to fly. But then, that really doesn't matter because he was still the one to end the monster's life.
But, to answer the actual post, I believe Superman will return even more powerful than before, which will enable him to face Darkseid, but not win (alone) of course.
@doflamingogt: New 52. Justice League fought with Darkseid.
Wonder Woman and Aquaman pricked out his eyes, Cyborg used tech to hack portals and Superman threw Darkseid into closing portal.
Also, Superman was originally still weakened by kryptonite when he first fought Doomsday prior to getting hit by that nuke in space. After that, even though he got a recharge from the sun, Doomsday absorbed the energy from the nuke and "evolved", becoming physically stronger than before.
I saw the movie and now i have a question - Since Superman ''died'' just to kill Doomsday in the movie what the hell is he going to do later against Darkseid? Of course he will have more Justice League members to help him but its basically again just him and maybe Green Lantern - the others are just for show when it comes to universal powered enemies.
he actually was winning at first. then the us hit him with a nuke. he would have won on his own if not for the 'help' of the government. however, the studio needed more movie time and had to justify the other characters being there. don't get to caught up on the doomsday fight. it would have been pretty anti-climatic if supes had just flown doomsday into space.
Well i think Darksied won't be like Doomsday.
Doomsday was like a Monster without a Brain who has strength greater than Superman...has insane energy projection and was virtually unkillable without Kryptonite. Doomsday as a character was written like that. Stronger than Superman and virtually immortal. Supes would engage it in a fistfight...ultimately manage to kill him but exhaust all his energy and die of his wounds.
Darksied on the other hand would be like an evil genius kinda character who also has insane abilities himself but isn't stronger than Superman physically.
Darksied will play games with the team...use pawns..it won't be like a superman vs darksied fistfight. Also supes would have the Justice league to back him up.
In any case...it will be awesome...exited to see the character and the Omega effect of course
@ready_4_madness: I remember Superman ripping Doomsday in half in the New 52, but I also remember Wonder Woman fighting him herself, cutting off his arm before it regenerated into a weapon. Then again, it's been a while since I read the story. I may have to check it out again.
Maybe entire JL will fight darkseid, blind him and send him back to apokolips via boom tube , oh wait .......it sounds familiar
Difference is Darkseid doesn't evolve every time you inflict damage on him.
This.
And it'll be 6 on one. Not counting Bats for obvious reasons.
@doflamingogt: I think Darksied or however you spell it should be a trilogy of movies and also be seen cross screen in many other movies. Place him in The Flash movie , Teen Titans and Wonder Women movie. Place him in a Superman movie and make it all come together in nothing but action in a Justice League movie.
The chance to show what makes comics great is the ability to take stories and stretch them till eternity breathing life back into old characters time and time again.
We open the door to so many idea's over and over again where in one world DarkSied walks through the mirror world and confronts his good self and so fourth and so on. A world where you place the tip of your finger on the mirror and it devours you and it shows you all the things possible.
I begin to wonder on the creative ability of writers and do they take the time to really see the potential or do they get lost in the idea of blinded by gold and the light shinning off of it.
All I can say is anything is possible when dealing with this dark god so why keep it simple why stop at one dimensional?
Throw the box away this time step up to the plate and try to play the game as fans would want you to. Hit the ball letting all your people come home all your movies do great and it starts with a epic story a tale that spans dimensions.
@khaji-da: I would hope so because lets face it they need every person man women and child to be able to fight.
This makes the movies more real brings to life a villain that has character not simply two dimensions and says destroy me.
Makes all of them more human regardless of powers for the fight comes to them the fight comes to the people of the sector not just earth as Hal Jordan would say. Trouble comes nocking and whom are we to not answer the call.
Or as Jor-El would remind Kal-El you are only there to remind them to never give up to fight the good fight you cannot do it all for them.
Do not walk in front of me I will not follow do not walk behind me for I refuse to lead but walk beside me.
One of us and we can safe the world and make it worthy of being saved but not in one movie not even in two you have to have a trilogy and maybe more for why would he even bother to come to earth why even leave your throne when you have assassins and legions of warriors from all over at your whim.
They should not even know whom the bad guys is until maybe the end of the first movie and that is a maybe. Introduce Scot and Barda and that would be awesome.
I still think it's funny that superman would have beaten doomsday alone if it hadn't been for the government shooting a pointless missile at them. that's like you going in for the winning dunk and your teammate comes in and flagrantly fouls you. That was just PIS at it's best. They could not have superman just fly in and beat doomsday in 1 minute.
haven't seen the movie but I'd expect him to use his Plot-Force powers. Regardless of which Superman from whatever universe they all have this power, Henry Cavil's Kal-El is waiting on Darkseid so he can unleash it.
Also I'm pretty sure the movie writers will incorporate more of the other Leaguers into the fight since it's a JL movie and not just Superman. Maybe Batfleck will one Shot Darksied.
