I have recently been reading Batman comics and got really confused on what is canon or not. Is the new 52 canon now and everything before that not?
What is canon anymore?!?!
Dude if I were you, I wouldn't think about continuity, all it will is give you a massive headache. Unless a story is directly referenced, don't think about it.
@anzid: everything under the new 52 name is canon. Other canon things are Knightfall and grant Morrison's batman run like "batman and son" and "batman inc." Final crisis and all that stuff is canon for batman too, but not for anyone else. Its really confusing so I'd just not think about it too much. There are some other canon stories too.
Anything that they want.
Just think that now everything you know about Batman and DC canon happened in 5 minutes, i mean years.

The sad thing about this, is that its actually true...
Just don't put a time stamp on anything. Batman working with four Robins in six years is ridiculous.
Basically everything
Knightfall
Killing Joke
You name it, it's happened
Not completely true. At least not all of that stuff happened exactly the way it was told in the comics.
@jonny_anonymous: I know that but the the most important things in those stories happened
According to Nathan Fairbairn, Batman never had his back broken by Bane.

Second paragraph after the first set of pics.
Almost everything that happened to Batman is canon except for the Justice League stuff and Zero Year or Year Two, some of the other stories may have slight variations though.
Batman Beyond (Terry McGinnis) is now cannon, suck it BB haters!
There are Batman Beyond haters?! That's sacrilege!
everything is canon, but there is a fact that what we know canon is not canon as the way we knew before...i mean, Knightfall is canon, but in Knightfall Tim Drake is Robin, but now we know Tim Drake was never Robin, so its left to the reader to imagine a Knightfall without Robin....sucks, right? damn DC...

We'll just imagine that he went by Red Robin instead...

I've seen a lot of people who don't want him to be cannon for some reason. Honestly I don't get it, he was my favorite Batman, brought a fresh feel to the title.
So is Jean-Paul Valley and his turn as Batman still continuity?
Things like that really bugged me at first.
Like the others said, just don't think about it too much.
@gustavoburciaga1: thats the problem man, if I will imagine story, how it played out, then why go pay and buy comics? i would just sit on my bed and imagine stories to have fun instead of reading comics

I see what you mean but I still enjoy seeing how it got to that point, you know? Like Zero Year, we all knew Batman wasn't going to die but we were still able to enjoy the ride, seeing him struggle against the Red Hood Gang and the Riddler was still a thrill even if we already knew he was going to win
