I can almost never not say Lee. He just draws an incredible super hero, no matter what the character.

Capullo is the better storyteller. His design, buildings, motorcycles, version of Jim Gordon, mood setting, scenery, transitions, furniture, architecture, Capullo has come a long way.

capullo is better for me. He is able to draw a wider variety of faces and expressions than lee. Lee is better on books that have a lot of big action scenes. But, if you are looking for darker and more stylized art, capullo is better

Jim Lee is probably the better artist but greg Capullo's art is near perfect for batman imo. Capullo wins just because his style is so well suited to batman

They both have their strengths. I prefer Capullo just for Batman, I couldn't really see him drawing an excellent Superman story or anything like that. Lee is great with drawing the iconic "hero" look, which is why his splash pages can be epic.

Overall, I prefer Capullo for the Batman design. I like to see Batman as more of the real guy fighting crime rather than the demi-god savior of Gotham, and Capullo captures that. Lee has Bruce's whole freaking body pumped up on steroids, and it looks a little ridiculous to me. Capullo stills grabs that ripped look, without looking like Superman.

Also, even though he didn't have a face, I found his Joker art amazing.

Both are very good but Jim Lee. His colors are more vibrant and bright, and he has more attention to detail. Just look at the art in Hush, you feel like every panel could be its own peice of art. Really beautiful artwork in that book.

Also his art on all of the covers for Superman Unchained so far have been stunning, but i guess that doesnt count since its not Batman. I think Capullo fits zero year very well, but overall, Jim Lee

Greg Capullo, it complements Batman so well, Court of Owls was sooooo much better because of his gritty, stylized art. I think Jim Lee on Hush was great, but I didn't feel like it made the story any better.

I have to go with Lee. There's just something about Capullo's work that doesn't work for me. I don't know what. I also didn't care for the way he drew the dirty and beat up Batman in issues 6&7. Jim on the hand draws Batman exactly the way I picture him, especially since he changed the build, and mad him look slimmer in the New 52. The only problem I had with Jim's pre-52 work was Batman looked way too buff. But as others have said, Jim hasn't done his best lately, and is getting sloppy. I still have to go with him, love his Bats.

Jim Lee's artwork is ideal...

Except for his Joker. There is a difference between a long chin and a... whatever Joker has there! Takes me out every time. I'm reading Batman, not Dick Tracy!

Jim Lee used to be amazing back during the Batman: Hush days, but he's gotten steadily worse over time.

Greg Capullo is nothing special, but right now, I'd say he has Lee beat.

Jim Lee batman is more iconic but I like capullos a little more. They both draw a lot of faces the same though. Capullo also sets mood and tone better with his art.

My vote goes to Jim Lee. No knock on Greg Capullo, but his art is not all that impressive to me. David Finch and Tony Daniel, for me, are the best artist I've seen do Batman since Lee. Too bad he's doing it for the Dark Knight. Would be awesome if he could do it for the title "Batman."

Jim lee's art has not gotten worse... it has evolved. What he is doing today is the best comic work I have ever seen from anyone in any era. I love both of these guys, but Jim lee's art, is and has been the industry standard for years. Nothing against capullo, his work is remarkable, and his cinematic storytelling works perfectly for batman, but when it comes down to the whole package or the better overall product, I'd still have to go with Jim lee. I think of it like this,if I were at the comicbook store with 4 bucks to spend and had to choose between a Jim lee or capullo batman book I would definitely buy the Jim lee book first... but I would return after payday to get the capullo book without a doubt.

His gauntlets are supposed to be strong enough to block swords, but they stick perfectly to his forearms when Lee draws him. Lee might be talented, but hes overrated as hell. Capullo all day, erryday.

This. I find Lee's art to be too stylized and 'clean'. I much prefer Capullo's grit and atmosphere - it feels more lived in, if that makes sense.

Jim Lee has still got it. His Superman unchained art is awesome...

But, I've liked a lot of Capullo's stuff...difficult to call really. Jim Lee nicks it for Batman Hush, for me.

..Actually, is this a good time to say that recently I've preferred Jason Fabok and Doug Mahnke's Batman drawings to those of Capullo or Lee?

Greg Capullo by far. Court of Owls was fantastic and he really can draw the Batman mood right. His Batman art is a lot more creative than Lee's.

I'm a Capullo guy. As a fan of horror he gives me the shivers, and draws things that make me uncomfortable and I applaud that ability. He places Batman in environments that I find terrifying, situations that are scary. In the face of this his Batman's resolve is tested but never fears though I may fear for him. I'm compelled to witness his bravery with a sense of awe. Batman #5 illustrates this perfectly. I see myself in the same situation as I read on and see no possible way out. Capullo show me the way. He says "Look, don't give up. Go further. Think. Try harder." I view it as a source of inspiration, we are all tested and I think it's the strength of our convictions that will see us through.

I prefer Greg's. I like how his Batman verges on animated but isn't quite animated.

And he draws and captures the mood really well.

I will take Lee based on his body of work, this in no way reflects on Cappullo who is a brilliant Batman artist and is responsible for elevating the book to the statice it enjoys now. I view both Lee and Cappullo as artist who have the ability to make the Batman stories they draw better than the writing should allow. I would like to see Lee return to being a full time artist for a couple years with a quality fill in artist every six issues on a Batman title.

Capullo to me has some good stuff...but on the whole I think he is amazingly overrated. A lot of his art is scratchy, not "gritty", just scratchy. It looks unfinished. I prefer Kubert, Gleason, Daniels and at the moment loving Manapul. I really, really don't see the appeal of Capullo.

Hell, in the final issue of Zero year there is one angle of Bruce's face that is just so badly drawn I was amazed it was allowed to be published. It's like bad 90's art, out of place amongst all these very pretty 2010's art.

Capullo by a long shot. His style fits Batman a lot more. Jim Lee's artwork is too clean and he draws a bad Joker.
