Typically we wait until the winner starts the next thread, just to make sure they have the opportunity to see that they've won. In some cases it could be a few days before the winner logs in again to do that. In case @frischdvh goes awol for an extended period of time, a mod or the runner-up might be asked to start the next contest but we usually give winners a week.
