Each week we gather up the coolest comic book art that won't be appearing in actual comics. The reason they won't is because artists often do sketches for fun and commissions. They graciously share them by posting on their blogs, Tumblrs and Twitter accounts. They are way too cool to be overlooked. Some artists even arrange commissions through their sites so be sure to check them out.
Sara Pichelli posted some "quick con-sketches" on her Twitter page.
Ryan Stegman is getting ready for NYCC Special Edition. He has info on sketches, including prices on his Tumblr.
Cliff Chiang posted some sketches on blank variant covers from Asbury Park Comic-Con on his Tumblr.
Philip Tan posted some more sketches on his Facebook page. The last two were inked by Michael Jason Paz.
Gabriel Hardman will also be at NYCC Special Edition and posted some info on his blog.
Todd Nauck posted a bunch of sketches from Long Beach Comic Expo on his Tumblr.
Paolo Rivera posted a couple Guardians of the Galaxy on his blog.
Ray-Anthony Height posted some commissions from Long Beach on his Tumblr and Instagram. I saw him working on the Batman sketch. That cover was super-glossy. Almost too glossy to draw on.
Francesco Francavilla was posting new art on his Tumblr last month and then putting them up for sale. Here's the last one he posted.
Skottie Young posted some more Daily Sketches on his Tumblr. The Rocket pic is for this year's Heroes Con badge art.
Joel Gomez posted some more sketches on his Tumblr.
Marcio Takara posted a bunch of new sketches for NYCC Special Edition and Heroes Con on his Tumblr.
Denis Medri posted this Bizarro sketch on his Deviant Art Page.
Yildiray Cinar posted some more sketches on his Instagram.
Peter Nguyen did this Wolverine pic and posted a few stages on his Tumblr.
Check out these Rod Reis commissions he posted on his Tumblr. You know I really dig that Moon Knight! The second is Orson Welles and the last is Radia from C.O.W.L.
Check out this Zombie HeroBear sketch Mike Kunkel did at Long Beach.
Mike @AlwaysBeCorgi Huang shared his Long Beach commissions (and even brought me a can of Pringles!).
The Mystery Art Challenge at Long Beach featured Magneto. Here's the video if you missed it during the week.
Here's scans of the art:
And this isn't really a commission or a sketch but check out Declan Shalvey's pencils for a page from this week's MOON KNIGHT. He has some for sale HERE.
That's it for this week. We'll be back next time with more!
