White Rabbit

Origin

Born from a wealthy family, the White Rabbit grew up in a safe, secure environment and was showered with all the material possessions she desired. However, she was bored, and only found entertainment from old novels, such as Alice in Wonderland, her favorite.

Creation

White Rabbit was created by J.M. Dematteis and Kerry Gammil and first appeared in Marvel Team-Up Vol.1 issue 131 (1983).

Becoming a Villain

As Lorina grew older, her family married her off to an older gentleman named Lewis Dodson. She eventually had him killed, and used her inheritance to buy various gadgets so that she could experience a life full of danger and excitement.

While the White Rabbit is clearly insane, she is quite articulate and has a great knowledge of literature. She spent her first days as a criminal robbing various fast food joints, most notably " Kwikkee Burgers." She and her gang were eventually confronted by the Frog-Man, who was able to defeat her hired help only with Spider-Man' s aid. The White Rabbit escaped, but struck later at a book fair, where she found the two super heroes once again. The White Rabbit, witnessing her men getting defeated, fled using her jet-boots, but they began to malfunction, allowing Frog-Man to knock her into a building.

Revenenge on Frog-man

Much later, she resurfaced, plotting to get her revenge on Frog-Man. She allied herself with the Walrus, but they were defeated by Spider-Man, Frog-Man, and Frog-Man's father, Leapfrog. Ditching the Walrus, she popped up again later with two new villains, Mad Hatter and Dormouse, though they were both actually hired actors as no other supervillains would work with the White Rabbit.

She formed a new plan by capturing Grizzly and Gibbon and ransoming them for one billion dollars in gold. She also created several genetically-altered rabbits, who were ready to eat the two so-called heroes. The Mayor, however, only offered the White Rabbit $2.50, which caused her to raise the ransom to five billion dollars, but Spider-Man, under the alias of the Bombastic Bag-Man, infiltrated the White Rabbit's hideout and battled her giant robot. She was then knocked out by Grizzly.

Romance

Following that event, the White Rabbit became romantically involved with Arcade, and updated her outfit. Wolverine and Black Cat eventually caught the pair and took them to the Savage Land, where the White Rabbit became queen of a group of tribal warriors. She somehow made it back to the United States, where she fired Mallory Book as her lawyer.

With the Hood

Recently, the White Rabbit joined the Hood's army. She, among several other enemies of Spider-Man, was hired to kill Mister Negative.

Hateful Hexad and Escaping with her Life

Some months later, White Rabbit joined and lead a new group of supervillains named the Hateful Hexad and start robberies throughout the New York area. While on one robbery, White Rabbit and the other members encounter both Spider-Man and Deadpool. The team fought the two heroes, but where soon stopped in their tracks when they encountered another supercreature named Itsy Bitsy. This creature killed most of the supervillain group. White Rabbit was saved by Deadpool, and managed to flee the scene, escaping with her life. The only other survivor was fellow-member Swarm.

Sinister Syndicate

White Rabbit was offered membership on the new Sinister Syndicate. It was assembled by the new Beetle, Janice Lincoln. As Beetle explained, organized crime had the worst gender disparity of every profession. She wanted the new Syndicate to respect the contributions of women to evil and foster support among a community of female supervillains. They were going to smash the glass ceiling with the bodies of their enemies.

The team was often getting into trouble thanks to Beetle’s relationship with Randy Robertson. Randy wanted her to stop being a villain, so she had made a deal with Kingpin to give up Boomerang to become deputized as his security detail. Her team passed on the idea though. They laid low after that, until the Beetle and Randy were kidnapped by Madame Masque and Crime-Master, who were working with a network of crime bosses brought together by Kingpin. The team showed up to rescue Beetle, who was already in the midst of being rescued by Beetle and Randy’s fathers, Tombstone and Robbie Robertson.

Sinister War

While discussing the membership of a possible seventh member, Ana Kravinoff, the Syndicate is approached by Kindred and sent to a graveyard, where Spider-Man is already fighting off two other supervillain groups. There, Kindred announces they were all hellbound villains who could earn a spot as Kindred's assistant, avoiding torture in the afterlife, if they killed Spider-Man. Spider-Man tries to get away while they all fight each other for the chance, but he fails. Eventually, Doc Ock uses a piece of Black Ant's helmet to knock everyone, including the Syndicate, out through the ear centipedes Kindred was using to control them.

Gang War

As a member of the Syndicate, she backed up Beetle when Tombstone was gravely injured. A gang war had been incited, and Beetle was forced to defend her dad's territory. With Rabbit and the rest of the Syndicate, Beetle planned on taking all of Harlem for her father's crime family. This put them in the sights of Madame Masque, who has been secretly orchestrating the entire gang war so she would be the last gang leader standing. Rabbit accompanied Beetle and all her backup to Central Park where they would fight Masque's full army over the rest of the city.

Unfortunately, Madame Masque also had weapon master, Rabble, on her team. The upgrades were enough to push the Syndicate back until Spider-Man, Tombstone, and the other heroes arrived and took on Masque's forces. White Rabbit and The Syndicate stepped back and waited until the heroes took out enough of Masque's crew for them to have an easy fight, except Tombstone caught them hiding and took out Beetle before she could be the last gang leader standing.

Tombstone usurped his own daughter as the head of the Syndicate and the Harlem gangs. He ordered a full retreat leaving the Masque's new Maggia and the heroes to deal with each other. With Spider-Man's crew proving victorious and the vigilante law repealed, Tombstone now ran the only criminal enterprise in the city.
