    Jack Knight's journey through space nears a surprising conclusion! Tracking former Starman Will Payton's energy signal, Jack and Mikaal arrive at Kranaltine, the Throneworld of the empire ruled by another former Starman. How are the two legacies related? Meanwhile, in Opal City, the O'Dare clan is in the middle of a massive murder investigation in which the prime suespect is none other than The Shade. Complicating the case further is the arrival of several costumed adventurers to the city, among them Phantom Lady, Black Condor, and last, but not least, the Elongated Man!
