    Red Power Ranger

Character » Red Power Ranger appears in 88 issues.

With the exception of Charlie and Lauren, the leader of the Power Rangers in almost every season, the red ranger, has always been male. They are usually privileged with better weapons and a battlelizer mode.

    Short summary describing this character.

Red Power Ranger last edited by gravenraven on 10/09/23 11:43PM View full history

Most Red Power Rangers have several factors in common. They are typically the leader of their respective teams, though their have been exceptions in several seasons such as Time Force. After Power Rangers: In Space, Red Rangers are typically equipped with a "Battlelizer". This is a type of powered armor that allows them to fight on even terms with the higher level villains, and even sometimes the main villain as well.

    Mighty Morphin Power Rangers

    Powers

Each of the Power Rangers experience an initial boost to their physical abilities once they are exposed to the Energy of the Morphing Grid; they experience a 20x to 30x amplification to Strength, Speed and Durability. Their senses and agility also undergo a less potent enhancement. Once their morphing devices are used to activate their armor, their abilities are increased by another 5x, and they are "downloaded" with the knowledge of how to use their weapons and Zord vehicles.

Each Ranger has significant proficiency in hand to hand combat, melee weapon combat (usually specialized to two or three types of weapons), hand-held firearms, and other specialized weapons that they can utilize while not piloting their Zords. Their Zords are highly futuristic vehicles that have a variety of onboard systems arrays, which provide number of different capacities: Energy and "Armored" attacks, specialized sensor equipment, and the ability to combine into a gestalt mechanical Anthropomorphic Robot.

    The Red Rangers

    Jason Lee Scott

For more see the Jason Scott page.

Jason as the Red Power Ranger
Jason as the Red Power Ranger

Jason Lee Scott is the first Red Power Ranger from Earth shown in the season. He draws power from the Tyrannosaurus Power Coin. He is a karate student with exceptional skill when Zordon summoned him and the four other original rangers to defend the planet against Rita Repulsa and her henchmen. As the Red Power Ranger, Jason controlled the Tyrannosaurus Dinozord and later the Red Dragon Thunderzord. He also had temporary possession of the Dragonzord, along with the Dragon Power Coin, allowing him to utilize the Green Ranger's Dragon Shield and Dragon Dagger in battle.

He also carried the standard Blade Blaster, a laser pistol that could change into a short blade, and the Power Sword, the most powerful weapon this group of Rangers used. The Power Sword also formed the top of the Power Blaster, a powerful energy cannon formed through the combination of the core five Rangers' weapons. Jason served as leader of the group up to the halfway point of Season 2 when Tommy Oliver, formerly the Green Ranger, was named leader after being given the powers of the White Ranger by Zordon, leaving Jason as second-in-command. When a special peace conference was announced in Switzerland, Jason chose to give up his power in order to attend.

Jason would return in Power Rangers: Zeo as the replacement for Trey of Triforia's Gold Ranger Power, in Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie, where he was captured by the space pirate Divatox, and in Power Rangers: Wild Force to team up with 9 other Red Rangers who served after him.

Rocky as the Red Ninja Ranger

The replacement for Jason Lee Scott after his departure, Rocky served under Tommy Oliver and is the first non-leading Red Ranger on the show. Rocky along with Adam Park and Aisha Campbell came to Angel Grove from Stone Canyon for a karate tournament and ended up discovering the Rangers identities after they were captured by Lord Zedd. The trio was sworn to secrecy at the command centre by Zordon and served as friends to the Rangers afterwards. When Jason left for the Peace Conference in Switzerland Rocky took his place as the Red Power Ranger and second in command of the team.

After the destruction of the Thunderzords by Rito Revolto Rocky and the rest of the team went to meet Ninjor the creator of the original Power Coins who gave the group new Ninja based powers and Rocky became the Red Ninja Ranger with his animal sign being the Ape. As a Ninja Ranger Rocky gained additional powers with slide teleportation, decoy suit trick, enhanced climbing ability, and super strength. Rocky would later become the Blue Zeo Ranger after the Rangers split the crystal into five shards. As the Red Power Ranger Rocky had access to the Red Dragon Thunderzord, the Red Ape Ninjazord, and the Red Shogunzord. He wielded the standard Blade Blaster, a laser pistol that could change into a short blade, and a Power Sword which was the most powerful weapon this group of Rangers used. The Power Sword also formed the top of the combination blaster formed from the rest of the Rangers weapons.

Aurico seems to have a level of super speed on par with the Ninja Rangers. When the Mighty Morphing Power Rangers returned to their natural ages Aurico and the other Alien Rangers departed though said that they would assist whenever needed. He would later come back in Power Rangers in Space during the great battle alongside the rest of the Alien Rangers against Divatox's army, having almost been defeated, Zordon's energy blast would save their lives. Aurico would then later appear in "Forever Red" when he arrived alongside the Red Galaxy Ranger in order to defeat the remnants of the Machine Empire.
