    3. "The Making of a Comic Book Part Three and Four" a 2 page text piece by Mike Gold.

    Things get worse for heroes all over the world as G. Gordon Godfrey poisons the population. Things become so extreme that President Ronald Reagan puts a stop to heroes. Blue Beetle (Ted Kord) gets shot in the shoulder, Robin (Jason Todd) gets beaten almost to death and the Justice League is almost destroyed. The Suicide Squad is created in response to the situation.

    SUMMARY :  This issue shows us that in the short time between issues 1 and 2, Glorious Godfrey has managed to turn the public against the heroes.  Even after saving a bunch of people in a bank, the public turns on Batman and Robin. Blue Beetle is fingered as the "Big Man" in a drug ring by the very dealer he was taking down, and Guy Gardner is attacked by the people he saved in a plane crash.  COVER : Once again John Byrne comes through with a descriptive, and dynamic cover.     Just like the DC Animated Universe 0

    The DC Animated Universe (DCAU) borrowed a lot of aspects from this book and for me that is a sign of how good this book is.  The book takes place just after the Crisis Of Infinite Earths so there are a lot of post crisis firsts and some just plain new concepts like the criminal organized Suicide Squad.  We even see Rick Flag meet Deadshot for the first time and we get to see Jason Todd get beaten within an inch of his life.  Who wouldn't like that?   Heroe...
