    History

The island was revealed to be a sentient creature that would occasionally decide to uproot itself and wander about on its own.

It is perhaps most famously known as the location for Blue Beetle's and Booster Gold's ill-fated casino known as Club JLI.

Kooey Kooey Kooey was also used as a proving ground and secret lair for the otherworldly villains known as the Extremists. It was here that Extremists member Dreamslayer took mental possession of JLI liaison Maxwell Lord and attempted to reforge his former team. Dreamslayer fought in a psychic dual with the super-hero Silver Sorceress. Though the Sorceress proved victorious, she paid the ultimate price. Her allies in Justice League Europe as well as Blue Jay buried her remains on Kooey Kooey Kooey.

A short time later, Kooey Kooey Kooey was seemingly destroyed by a tidal wave sent by extra-dimensional invaders. Frank Rock sent a Suicide Squad team consisting of Major Disaster, Killer Frost, Deadshot, Blackstarr and Reactron. Blackstar teleported the team on to the island to engage the invaders. Later she teleported Deadshot, Major Disaster and Killer Frost off the island once she realized the aliens were of pure blood and had not brought in other extra terrestrial species to alter their DNA. She told the remaining invader leader she would return and they would kill the human race.
