    History

    L. Miller & Son (Mick Anglo Marvelman Era)

Gargunza's scientific genius is perhaps only matched by his lust for money. When he's not advancing his own plans for world domination he often accepts the refuge and pay from international despots in exchange for his inventions. Gargunza is constantly dreaming up designs for new and fantastic weapons with which to dominate the good people of the world - and, even better, his mortal foe, Marvelman!

His known associates include his own nephew, Young Gargunza, and an evil alien called Young Nastyman.

    Warrior/Eclipse (Alan Moore Marvelman/Miracleman Era)

Dr. Gargunza's advancements in science and genetics caught the attention of the Nazi party. In 1934 they recruited him into the Reich as a genetics researcher. He continued to work for the Nazis until 1941 when he realized it was impossible for the Axis to win the war and defected to England.

    Creation

Created by Mick Angelo in 1954 as a substitute for Doctor Sivana after Fawcett Publications ceased publication reprinting Captain Marvel comics in England. As for the name of the character, it was a nickname Mick's brother gave him from his childhood as a means of calling him an "ugly-looking fellow".
