Brad 'Chickenheart' Vickers served as S.T.A.R.S. alpha team's dedicated pilot from the foundation of the team in 1996 and onwards until his death during the Raccoon City outbreak. Overly skittish and inexperienced in field combat, Vickers' nerves got the better of him during the Mansion incident and he abandoned his teammates in the Arklay forest. However, he later had a change of heart and returned to rescue the remaining survivors from the mansion prior to self-destruct, providing the survivors with a rocket launcher in the process. Following the incident Vickers remained in Raccoon City for unknown reasons and he was later caught in the T-Virus outbreak that ravaged the city. Having fled the police department, Brad was later found by his teammate Jill valentine, though the S.T.A.R.S. officer was largely incomprehensible due to his rambling. Vickers was later found outside the police station, though he was almost immediately killed by Nemesis. He was later found in a zombified state by the protagonists of Resident Evil 2.
