Spider-Man surprised them when they were seemingly stealing something from the university. They tried to flee, but Spider-Man stopped their van and when they tried to run away with the boxes they just stole, he caught them one by one in his web. He was surprised when he found animals in the boxes and wanted to know what was going on. The four students told him about the cruel experiments the animals would've been used for. Spider-Man knew that they were right, but he couldn't let them get away with stealing. He threatened to bring them to the police, but suddenly he let himself fall and pretended to be knocked out. The students drove away with the animals and Spider-Man was happy with it.
