Cannon has Akiko lock him into a cell so he and Taras can fight it out, without having to worry about what Taras would do with his body. While they are battling, Taras attempts to coerce Akiko into letting him(them) out. Taras brings Cannon back to the memory of when Vana was trying to fuse Taras' spirit into Cannon's body. While in the memory Taras is in control and Cannon struggles in the battle. Cannon then brings them to the memory of Chanary, where Cannon had originally "Killed" Taras. Cannon lunges and brings himself and Taras into the beam of energy, forcing Taras to view his own death. This frees Cannon from Taras' presence in his mind. After defeating Taras, Cannon returns to the Blue, Akiko kisses him before he leaves to encourage him to not wait too long before returning.
