    Father Time is the leader of S.H.A.D.E. In his first appearance, Father Time tries to convince Frankenstein to join S.H.A.D.E. and reunite with Bride. He refused and fled.

    Father Time is later seen to be in control of the recently destroyed Bludhaven, employing Freedom's Ring and others to defend the city. During the Battle for Bludhaven, S.H.A.D.E. comes into conflict with the Teen Titans and the Atomic Knights.

    He uses his influence to have a presidential candidate assassinated and replaced with Gonzo The Mechanical Bastard. When several of the Meta-Humans working within S.H.A.D.E. rebel and form the new Freedom Fighters, he calls in First Strike as a counter attack. Though he is thought to be a villain, Father Time explains that his goal was the manipulate Uncle Sam into reforming the Freedom Fighters and defeating Gonzo. In the end Father Time escapes, but is seriously injured an his skin appears to be molting.

    The 52 and Final Crisis

    In 52, Father Time is seen trying to stop a rampaging Black Adam. After a brief confrontation, Black Adam rips his face off. He is seen again during Final Crisis, fully healed, as part of the effort to save the world against Darkseid.

    Father Time has the ability to rejuvenate himself and take on a new form by shedding his skin. Against the Freedom Fighters he is an elderly white man with long hair and a Buffalo Bill beard, but after he molts he is an young African-American man who wears a bowler hat and a domino mask. Recently, he took on the form of a young girl, though he/she retains his/her memories and personality.
