Two gems to be used in a spell for resurrection or drain someone else's life energy. in the 18th century, Zheng Zu won the gems from Yao, the Ancient One.
Zheng Zu tried to use it on his younger brother, Zheng Yi, but was stopped by him.
Zheng Zu and Zheng Yi created the Five Weapons Society to defend China, but with Yi's death, Zu turned the Society into a criminal organization. Zu created the legend that he used the gems to drain his brother's life energy.
Some time ago, with the help of the Shadow Council, Zheng Zu (in a zombified state) plans to drain Shang-Chi life force in order to fully ressurect himself, the Council had the ritual interrupted by the Prince of Orphans, Zu was turned to stone and destroyed by the Prince of Orphans.
Creation
The Eyes of the Dragon first appear in the Eyes of the Dragon story arc, written by Ed Brubaker and drawn by Mike Deodato, Jr.. In Shang-Chi (2020), Gene Luen Yang retconned Zheng Zu's origin, showing that he wasn't always the supervillain with plans for domination.
