The return of Firestorm, The Nuclear Man! Ronald Raymond inexplicably goes meta again, just as the Justice League gains control of Mount Thunder and secures it as its new base of operations.

With Mount Thunder secure, the Extreme Justice team now has some down time. Blue Beetle begins examining Amazing-Man’s powers, while Maxima confronts Captain Atom about their past. Captain Atom reveals that he has promised himself to Plastique, which angers Maxima. Maxima flees, using debris from Mount Thunder to fashion a nearby base of her own. The team decides to give Maxima some room, deciding to look into a brewing Crisis in Pittsburgh. They find that something has triggered Ronnie Raymond’s powers again, and he is aflame flying high above the city. The team investigates, and is brought up-to-speed by Oberon and Skeets. Amazing-Man manages to absorb some of Firestorm’s energy, while the rest of the team calms him down. Once back in control, Ronnie receives a mental message from Martin Stein, the elemental Firestorm last seen exploring the galaxy. Martin reveals that he is heading home.
