How Old is Emma?
pixelized says:
"I know i shouldnt....we all know she is in her early millions....but she's still gorgeous.
Sidenote...GOSSIP GIRL ON MONDAY!!! haha"
I KNOW!!!!!
Gloom says:
"pixelized says:or maybe her 616 counterpart is significantly older than what we believe it to be.....=/ and why is dazzler so....not cute in ultimate?lol"But why didnt we get to see a more youthful emma frost???? Everyone else dropped in age...even the professor....idk....my feeliungs are a tad hurt."Probably 'cause they wanted her to be the leader for her own team of mutants, which would be weird if she was 16. ;P"

NOT CUTE IN 616????? Are you kidding me? lol her 616 is a Major upgrade from whats going on now......but too each his own...who did the artwork cause they obviously had a fetish for short hair....jean and then they chopped off storms lovely locks.....my feelings were severly hurt
I always assumed Emma was always a few years older then Scott and Jean. But that is just me. I assume in Ultimate they made her older then she is in the other series because of the story line.
Maybe Emma is a craddle robber?....
you can't base her 616 age on her ultimate age. it's 2 different universes where things can be and usually are significatly different

i think the answer is obvious: emma is clearly 27-28.White Queen
1986 July - The Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe #8 - "Young"
1990/1 ? - Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe Master Edition - "Young"
After The Uncanny X-Men #39 (1967 December) - - - Emma Frost #6 - Before leaving home
? - - - Generation X #-1 - Left home at 15/early 16
? - - - Generation X #-1 - Encounters the Inner Circle of the Hellfire Club for the first time at 16 (her third visit to the Club)
10 years before July 1997 - - - Generation X #-1 - Ten years earlier (corrected in a letter column in Generation X #31), Emma met Dark Beast at roughly the time she joined the Hellfire Club
? - - - X-Men: Deadly Genesis #5 - Recruited for Moira's X-Men (declined); already at Hellfire club (prior to Gen X #-1?); all other recruits alluded to be around the same age, about 1 year younger than Havok
1998 January - - - Generation X #34 letter column- "Between 25 and 30"
2003 July - - - New X-Men #138 - 27
oh i almost forgot this...
so emma is 28-29 years old now...lol
I always thought of her as being in her thirties - 30-35, and slightly older than Scott, Jean and Ororo, who would be in their late twenties/early thirties. She seemed older in her initial appearance and during the "New Mutants", she almost seemed a contemporary for Magneto and Charles Xavier.
I guess those scans corrected me LOL, but that was actually one of the few things I didn't like about Morrisons' run, even though I understand that the characters are perpetually young.
Emma has to be in her thirties but I think I remember her stating the fact that she lies about her age or many be it was someone else. Lol. But it is known that she is older than Scott.
In her solo series, Emma watches the X-men on a newscast on TV while still in highschool but it appears it's during the original 5's time so she's probably either a bit older or the same age as the X-men.
Though recently in Generation Hope or Uncanny or something she did mention finding gray hairs....
I'd estimate early 30s by now, assuming that Scott, Jean and Warren are maybe 30-32, Hank is maybe 34/35, Bobby is 28-30 and Storm is 37-40.
Sounds quite consistent with the flashback story from Generation X Minus 1 where she was stated to be 16. Marvel published such a -1 issue for most titles back in July 1997, and they were intended to take place 13 years in the past; 3 years before the FF and Spidey got their powers, which was 10 years in the past at that time. Now it's very recently been stated that FF's space flight took place 13 years ago, so about 3 years should have passed in the Marvel Universe since then, making her ca 32 years old right now." I'd estimate early 30s by now, assuming that Scott, Jean and Warren are maybe 30-32, Hank is maybe 34/35, Bobby is 28-30 and Storm is 37-40. "
Well, assuming you can rely on stated ages which you generally cannot, since there will always be contradictions and characters that age at different rates (like soaps). Marvel stated in the letter pages of Generation X that Emma's flashback took place only 10 years ago for instance.
At least early thirties matches the view of the current Uncanny writer Kieron Gillen quite well: http://www.formspring.me/KieronGillen/q/2123209771
Edit: Don't know about the other ages you stated though. I'd say Cyclops is about the same age as Spider-Man, which should be around 27-29. At least they both started out at the same age, 15-16 or so. Beast maybe a few years older. Jean's "real" age is pretty much up for grabs considering her many years as dead and occasionally resurrected.
" @The Dark Huntress: How can anyone really know?
Writers portray the character really at any age see fitting the generation of comic reader. That is why Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman aren't portrayed as 70 years old or older.
Yes, and in current continuity and going by the person who is currently writing her (Kieron Gillen), Emma is in her early thirties. So it really depends on the generation, writer, and continuity of a comic book
Emma's is. She was said to be 28 during Morrison's New X-Men run, placing her around her early thirties now, a few years younger than Scott." @The Dark Huntress: Early 30's? Comic age is never really talked about. "
