    Elektra is a character that was created by Frank Miller in 1981, first appearing in Daredevil #168.     Fighting Along Side Daredevil

    Working for the Kingpin

    Elektra is hired by Willson Fisk and is giving the job to assassinate Matt Murdock's partner, Foggy Nelson. Meanwhile, the Kingpin's old assassin, Bullseye, breaks out of prison. He hears that Elektra replaced him as Kingpin's assassin and he is out to kill her. See Elektra and Bullseye fight to the death in these critically acclaimed issues.     The Hand steals Elektra's body and attempts to resurrect her and make her a loyal assassin to their organization. Daredevil will try and fight them and he will be forced to make a choice; to let the woman he once loved live again or to let her die.

Elektra will meet the mutant known as Wolverine and team up with Yukio to fight the Hand. Written by Peter Milligan and later by Larry Hama with art by Mike Deodata Jr.

    This is a good starting point for people who are already familiar with the character, but don't want to read every single thing. During this era Elektra recipes her longest ongoing, and returns to the Daredevil books as well in Brian Michael Bendis' run on the book.

    Elektra's second Ongoing Series

    This series was launched in 2001 under the Marvel Knights label. It features Elektra doing what she does best; working as a assassin. Here you will see Elektra work for many high profile costumers, and even Nick Fury himself. There will also be some personal information revealed about Elektra's family and about her state of mind in this series. Brian Micheal Bendis was the writer that launched this series, but Greg Rucka is the writer that carried it through most of it.

    The Murdock Papers

    The Murdock Papers

    Elektra hears a Rumer that the Kingpin of crime has indisputable proof that Matt Murdock is in fact Daredevil, and was willing to trade the information of Daredevil's real identity to the police. Elektra then decides to help Matt find the papers, returning to Hells Kitchen, and coming face to face with Black Widow.

    Wolverine: Enemy of the State

    Elektra is hired by SHIELD. She is sent to detain Wolverine, who has been brainwashed by the Hand. She will be in some of the toughest fights of her life as Wolverine goes on a massive killing spree. Elektra will also once again find herself battling the Hand in this story.     Thunderbolts

    Elektra is later recruited by General Thunderbolt Ross to join this new incarnation of the team; Thunderbolts. Elektra joins for the money and fights along side Red Hulk, Red Leader, The Punisher, Venom, Deadpool, and later Ghost Rider. Elektra starts to form a relationship with the Punisher, one that was hinted at years prior in the Punisher's second Marvel Knights Series. In this series you will also see the return of Elektra's brother and the conclusion of his story. Written by Daniel Way and later by Charles Soule.
