DBZ fans need to understand why there's so much frustration with posts like this. Nobody makes posts about how Franklin Richards is awesome and hard, and DBZ fans are "just mad cause he would solo their entire universe in 1 femtosecond". That's essentially what you're doing here.

Why do some DBZ fans have outright contempt for Western comics?
Well, I believe I have a theory. DBZ characters start off being bullied and have to train really hard to work themselves up to be strong enough to beat their fears. They must work to prove they are as strong or stronger than their peers. This is a good representation of many countries since WW2 now that the US and its allies have basically monopolized the international political and economic systems.
In Western comics most heroes are accidentally gifted powers or born with powers that make them naturally more powerful than normal people. They have to cope with being responsible for the lives of so many other people who can't or won't help themselves. That's how America has portrayed itself since WW2, protecting those who can't protect themselves because we were burdened with so much power.
These differing ideals spill over into our lives everywhere. Libertarians believe some people are born with more power (due to circumstances) than others and those individuals are naturally more likely to succeed in life. I compare this to Western media ideals. Superman, Batman, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Thor, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, etc., the pervasive theme is that "with great power comes great responsibility".
In authoritarianism, the belief is that everyone is born equal, and the harder you work the more likely you are to be successful, and that you can overcome anything with enough work. This is more exclusive to DBZ. Goku, Vegeta, Goten, Gohan, Trunks, Krillin, Tien, Piccolo, etc., they all start off relatively weak, especially compared to the bad guys. But the more they train the more likely they are to overcome evil and succeed in tasks that seem impossible even though they began at the same place as everyone else.
The real argument is... which side is more noble? Which side do you identify more with?
This question is the source of contempt because it is almost a veiled political debate, the debaters just don't know the name for their beliefs. You don't change someone else's beliefs with words very often, its nigh-impossible. That's why these go nowhere.
