As we all know, angels in Dragon Ball Super, like Whis, are superior to the God of Destruction to whom they are assigned, however this makes me wonder, are these Angels, like the biblical angels, void of free will?

I am inclined to say yes since they must follow the orders of the God of Destruction to whom they are assigned. However, I am not sure if there is a legit statement about this.

They seems to have some sort of free will, or at least the ability to experience pleasure, such as Whis' love of Earth food and Vegeta using it to manipulate Whis during his training. Furthermore, I don't think they are subservient to the Gods of Destruction, as they seem to be more of their caretakers. At most, they seem to have limited free will so long as it is in accordance with their overall directive, or are bound by protocol like in a royal court in Japan.

Yes. They just have duties and an air of indifference to mortal affairs which are fleeting to them. Whis is there if Beerus goes overboard but he's not jumping at every instance to stop his genocide.
