He worked during four years with Professor Benjamin Savannah, designing weapons of warfare for the Pentagon. His work dealed in photon energy, with fission-isotope experiments, and its effects.
He knew their discoveries didn't being used for peaceful purposes. Far beneath the Pentagon there was an arsenal that could destroy the world. He searched for the location of this hidden weapon supply but just he learned it Doctor Mynde was caught.

Leonard Mynde talked Rick Jones into doing test in his laboratory for compensate photon energy he was radiating. They went to his laboratory in North Virginia estate. There he had armed guards (USA army troops) because he worked for USA Government. Many of his experiments were considered top secret.
Really he planned use Captain Marvel's photon energy for invading The Pentagon, the stronghold of America's secret weapons.
