    Origins

    In 2000, Disney decided to make a franchise using their leading princess roles. At the time, it only consisted of eight princesses (Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Pocahontas, and Mulan). Later three more were added to the group (Tiana, Rapunzel, and Merida).

    Kingdom Hearts

    Many years ago, people thought that light was a gift from Kingdom Hearts. The area was guarded by the "X-Blade". Warriors wanted the precious light, thus creating the Keyblade War. The people made replicas of the X-Blade called Keyblades. The violent clash broke the X-Blade into twenty shards. Seven of light and thirteen of darkness. The seven parts of light became the pure hearts of seven women. They are known as the Princesses of Heart. Xehanort hired Maleficent to snag the Princesses while Xehanort can find 13 vessels. The seven guardians of light are Keyblade wielders who protect the princesses.

    These princesses include Kairi, Alice, Snow White, Jasmine, Belle, Cinderella, and Aurora.
