I like that. I also like how he kinda connected it all to Earth-3's Owlman and Talon.
Dick Grayson
Character » Dick Grayson appears in 9430 issues.
As the first Robin, Dick Grayson was the most famous sidekick in comic book history. As he ventured forth on his own, he formed the Teen Titans and became their leader. When the boy became a man, he became the independent hero known as Nightwing.

Snyder is such a pro. There's just no one writing better comics than him right now. He gets Gotham and Batman in a way few manage. Love his work and I hope they keep him working on Batman for years to come!
I would agree that Snyder is ONE of the best. But, I think that Hickman is giving him serious competition for the BEST right now. As much as I love Batman right now, I think I like Fantastic Four and FF a little more. But either way you can't go wrong.
It's hard to say... both are good and for different reasons. It will be sad when Hickman's FF run ends as he had really done such a great job with that run and really knows the characters well, but at the same time I'm excited to see what he will do with the Avengers too.
I never heard of this Snyder guy before, however his Batman stuff is great. As a Marvel fan, I have to say it's got everything right. Plus, you can't beat Capullo's art. It's just so animated and alive.
@TwistedGamer: Nightwing is consistently good every month. The worst that could happen is you not giving it a chance. Some of the effects from Nightwing even mirror what's going in Batman sometimes.
Wow! I can't even imagine Dick Grayson being an Assassin, but he was that would be FREAKIN' Awesome. I love Scott Snyder work on The Court of Owls. Can't wait to read more.
I cannot lie and say that I will stop reading Batman when Snyder's run is over, but I sure hope he keeps writing it for a long time. I don't know how great it will be, but I am going to pull Talon as well. Anyone who has yet to read Severed by Snyder should check that out too. Snyder and Jeff Lemire are probably my fave writers at this time.
Really speaks to Snyder's caliber that he is willing to go back to old issues and research information like this to make it relevant to big stories that he is writing now. I can honestly say I wasn't aware of this issue but wow, I'm truly amazed now that I know about this and the part it obviously played in the Court of Owls event.
Snyder will write Batman until the end of time. In the future DC will snatch samples of his dna and spawn Scott Snyder clones. It wouldn't surprise me if that army isn't already being procreated deep underneath DC headquarters.
Good eye friend, "The Talon" definitely has a lot of history that no one expected. Given the grim reminder as of late, and what the Owls' have in store for the Detective *and his family + friends
@thespideyguy of cource you meant to say "Why didn't the court of the owls TRY kill Bruce when he adopted Dick." Maybe they knew even then That Bruce Wayne was Batman and they were not ready to play that hand just yet. Thus sacrificing young and yet to be trained Dick Grayson to avoid a full blown war with The Batman just yet. My main question is how would they have taken Dick from John and Mary? Fake his death? Have him kidnapped?
I loved reading this book. The fact that Batman and that Owl guy were having a conversation with a jet engine nearby and could still hear each other didn't matter to me it was that cool.
cool i think it is a cool conection between the two. but if Dick is suposed to be a talon why was saiko tryng to kill him not persuad him to be talon?plaese answer my question i need to know
Saiko wasn't a Talon, bro. He was rejected and left for dead and blames Grayson for everything the court put him through because it was meant to be Dick.

When Bruce Wayne adopted Dick after the death of his parents he inadvertently prevented Mr Haly from giving Dick to the Court, where he would've been trained as a new Talon. As a result Saiko (Raymond) was offered to the Court to be trained as a Talon. They put him through hell but decided he wasn't worthy so they left him in the wild where owls scratched his eyes, hence all the scarring around his eyes. He blamed Dick Grayson for this whole thing even occurring and set about trying to get revenge. In short, Saiko was a rejected Talon and therefore had no reason to try to persuade Dick to become one of them.
this was cool to read. i do love Scott Snyder's work.
