@nightwing737: This should not be in the battle forums. You might want to change it if you can.

Screw the New 52 timescale, it doesn't make sense and it fits horribly with character histories. For someone like Dick, it completely undermines the time he spent as Robin and therefore the strength of his relationship with Bruce.

I, personally, like the idea that he's around 24/25 (being Nightwing since he was 18. Robin from 12-18). Jason being around 23, Tim around 17 and Bruce around 38. Damian as 10-12.

You can't hide from the truth my friend. Accept it as the rest of us have, with all embracing love...despite the fact that the timeline sucks, and Dick's character has been stripped of more than any other Bat Family member.

@nightwing737: Yeah, no problem. It would just be ashame to see a mod take action on this thread since you would lose karma points. Not a big fan of most of the mods here by the way.

But yeah, I believe Nightwing is 21 years old or something.

Wouldn't he be 22 now? Since the court of owls(and I'll assume the Nightwing series up to DOTF) lasted nearly a year, and it's been some time since then.

Yeah they're really not that far apart in age. I don't even think Tim's that much younger anymore. Damian's the only one who seemed to be unchanged.

@john_valentine: Didn't Dick become Robin when he was around 8-10?

This was my impression too. I thought that in the pre-52 timeline, he was the youngest Robin to begin with. Although, to be fair they did change his initial age several times.

@alak: Pre New 52 he was 10,the same age that Bruce was when he lost His parents, there were a lot of parallels to what happened to them as children, but thanks to Bruce, dick was able to be different,he wanted to help people, genuinely, unlike Bruce, who is infinitely in a pursuit f vengeance for the injustice befallen upon his parents. Bruce saved dick, from becoming someone like himself. My dick origin is the dark victory version (sequel to long Halloween)

@superjedi17: You know, I've actually never read Dark Victory. The origin story I've read (comic-wise) for Dick was in some kid-friendly digest, so I knew all the basics but it wasn't dark or gloomy. Is the entire Dark Victory arc about Robin or does he just happen to show up in the middle of it? I might go see if my local comic book shop has it in stock.

@alak: Dick's first appearance in dark victory would be in the 7th issue I'm sure, for about 1-2 issues he's being sad, mourning Hus parents, and there moments that mirror Bruce when he was going through it,Alfred even acts different towards dick, and it helps,as he was silent, but NOT cold(don't want to send that message) with Bruce when he was goi through it,he didn't know what to say, with dick,he used what he saw how Bruce's parent's deaths consumed him,so he helped him,to move forward with his life. There is a pretty dark scene involving tonny"Fats" zucco, but I won't spoil it. He's never really robing till the final page of the story, but Bruce let's him know his secret the second or third to last issue of the either 12 or 13 issue story (get the trade, nice info about his e artist didn't like the idea of robin, his it wouldn't work but got convinced,or it was the other way around for the writer instead, forget, great mysyery'story as well) a great read overall.

@alak: one other thing,it's definitely a sequel,I'm not saying you'll be lost if you haven't read the long Halloween, but you may have one or two things go over your head. Also,I wasn't a big fan of how scarecrow and mad hatter were portrayed in those books,so if you're a fan of those villains,be warned,Harvey and calender man are done well in these book though.

@rustyroy: @alak: it's really good,I actually prefer it to the long Halloween. I especially like calender man in this story, two face is great, joker is,well joker. Riddler's decent. But dick is great,in my opinion. Like rusty Roy said it's underrated. I was wrong, dick shows up in issue #8,not #7. But it's a 13 issue story, which I think does the holiday thing again, the story has a similar format, but I personally like it more in dark victory, felt more well done, again,my opinion. You should at least like it if you ever get the chance to check it out. I reccomend it

@alak: Yeah,I'd recommend reading it with color, since Tim Sale's art would be somewhat harder to understand what's happening here and there, with all the emphasis on shadows as well,I've never actually read digital,I like pages and paper 8) personally. But to get back on topic,I'm sure dick is 22 nowadays. So I think Bruce would be 31,not sure about the other bat-family members, though.

According to Secret Origin #8 he was still 21 when he was recruited by Spyral (maybe the Charaters don't age in the new 52).

Yeah they're really not that far apart in age. I don't even think Tim's that much younger anymore. Damian's the only one who seemed to be unchanged.

Dick is the only "Robin" whos age was changed dramatically in the reboot.

Damian was 10 at the end of the old and the beginning of the new continuity.

Tim was 17 at the end of the old continuity and he still seems to be around this age.

And Jason was probaly 19 at the end of the pre new 52 (the only real info about his age was that he had his 18th birthday around the same time turned 16), which seems also roughly correct.

In Crisis on Infinite Earths he looked like 21 years old, and that was 11 years ago. Maybe his Post Crisis version is about 33 years now.

His current version is really about 21 or 25 years old.

These new timelines don't make sense lol

I have always imagined him as a guy who's in his mid 20's with Jason following closely behind him (about 23), Tim to be at least 19 and Damian... well, ideally 14 at least.
