    DETECTIVE COMICS #867 1

"Imposters" part 1. This is written by David Hine and drawn by Scott McDaniel(ugh!). I'm sure you noticed my disgusted "Ugh" sound, so let me explain. The art in this comic completely sucked! I mean it was just awful! Every panel seemed rushed, and to me it seemed like McDaniel's didn't care how his art looked. Once again... Ugh! The story here was pretty decent, but it wasn't great enough to overpower the crappy artist. This issue of Detective Comics was actually the first issue of this series ...

    Review: Detective Comics #867 0

The Jokerz, a gang of Joker copycats, suddenly appear en masse in Gotham City and Batman has to find out why these seemingly-peaceful civilians are injecting themselves with Joker venom to become a gang of lunatics.   The Good This is one of those rare comics where the storytelling's so involving, it actually makes you feel like an active participant.      First of all, while the premise of the story may seem ridicules, it’s actually well executed, thanks to David Hine, Scott McDaniel and Andy Owens. Hine's writing is superb and although he is not the best Batman writer by far, he's still good. As for the art from the McDaniel/ Owens team, some may not like it, by I for one really do like it. This may partially be because some of the first comics I ever got were in the late 1990s/ early 2000s, when McDaniel/ Owens were on the title, but regardles...

    More Detective. More Action 0

Now due to some issues at my local comic book shop i wasn't able to get the current storyline of detective comics till know. today i finally picked up all  the issues at once. i was really intrigued as i was told that this showed a more classic version of the dark knight. and that the word "detective" was in the name for good reason. i'd proud to report this is all true.   i really enjoyed batman and commissioner gordons banter as it felt like batman was really part of the police work and was d...

The first part of this story arc introduces us to the "Jokerz" best known as in the Batman Beyond tv series. The concept isn't all that bad, but the final product is pretty dull. It's written by David Hine and drawn by Scott McDaniel.  The main problem with writing is that it's unclear whether this Batman is Bruce or Dick. But I liked the whole thing with the Batman impostor and his announcement. The worst thing about this issue might be the artwork. The cover was cool but that's just because it ...
