“FORECAST FOR TONIGHT…MURDER!” Batman waits under the gangplank for a man known as the “Nemesis” to disembark from a freighter recently arrived from South Africa. But when Batman captures the final figure to leave the boat, he discovers it is not the man he is looking for. Instead, thanks to a Geiger counter he is carrying (the man he is after has worked for years in a radioactive area), Batman realizes that his quarry is in a coffin that was just unloaded off the ship and sent out in a hearse.
When an old diamond smuggler receives a death threat which tells him he will be dead by 5pm, Batman is quickly on the case. The man feels reassured by Batman's protection, but imagine his face when Batman turns up at 5pm and disrobes to reveal himself as the assassin! Fortunately for the intended victim, the real Batman has followed the imposter and he prevents the murder taking place. However, the tension of the situation is too much for the old man to bear and he suffers a stroke.
Batgirl and Jason Bard break up a robbery at the start of their adventure. Commissioner Gordon later suggests that He, Babs and Bard take a holiday in New Mexico. And what do you know - once they are out there they become victims of an ambush. Can Babs save her dad and keep her Batgirl ID safe from Jason at the same time?
