Part II: Avengers: Assassinated last edited by Darkside_of_the_Sun on 05/11/21 02:43AM View full history

What if everything you thought was funny about Deadpool…was actually just disturbing?

What if he decided to kill everyone and everything that makes up the Marvel Universe?

What if he actually pulled it off? Would that be FUN for you?

The Merc with a Mouth takes a turn for the twisted in a weekly horror comic like no other…

The book starts with Deadpool his killing heroes and villains alike. A newscaster reviews the terror that has been going on since book and we can see corpses of Ghost Rider, Doctor Doom and Howard the Duck. She stops to think and questions if anyone can stop him.

The scene changes to a fight with Spider-Man and Deadpool fighting above the streets of New York City. Spidey kicks Deadpool off of him and he crashes onto a Yellow Taxi Cab. He heals quickly, gets up and walks over to Spider-Man. He pulls out his gun and shoots Spidey in the head.

He walks away from the scene and the new voice tells him to take things slowly. Deadpool does not listen and decides to go for something huge. In the Avengers Mansion, the Avengers call a meeting and the current roster, including reserve members are as follows; Captain America, Ms. Marvel, Thor, Spider-Woman, Luke Cage, Wolverine and Iron Man. Jarvis runs into the room and tells them that Ant-Man is gone. He recalls him being in his labs worried about missing Pym Particles.

Wolverine sniffs the air. And tells the team that something bad is about to happen. Bombs grow to full size on the table along with the body of Hank Pym and the mansion explodes. Deadpool is among the rubble playing with Ant-Man’s helmet and kills Luke with bombs he snuck into the coffee and smashed Thor with an oversized Mjölnir he grew with the last batch of Pym Particles.

Deadpool then goes to the Grand Canyon where Hulk easily dismembers him. Hulk walks away into a cave and, while asleep, turns into Banner. Deadpool Cuts off his head. Later, family members of heroes hire Taskmaster to kill Deadpool.

I'm not sure what too think on this series so far. It has been a little disappointing so far but this issue wasn't any worse than last so rated the same. I think Bunn has been a hot and cold writer so far as has he's tried his hand at most characters some are just not for him. This comic is basically the same as the last, Deadpool's other voice tells him too kill people and he does (without questioning). I did like how he took out most of the Avengers quick with a couple left. I also liked how he...

The Merc Without a Point 0

Last week I was a bit confused by this comic, this week I'm just disgusted. It's cynical, nihilistic crap. Its entertainment value is supposed to come out of seeing "our superheroes" getting killed, even if their deaths are totally out of character and not cool at all. The heroes behave like scared kids without a plan. We have seen them survive any kind of ordeal but they don't stand a chance against Deadpool for no reason. Well, one reason – the title of this comic says so.There is no fun, just...

I'm am pretty confused as to why i'm still reading this mini-series. I thinks it's because I have a weakness for seeing things through that I start.Let me start by saying that Doom in, no way, should even be considered as a possible implication at losing in a bout to Deadpool (One panel in this is enough to turn avid comic fans off this series). Again unless this is UMVC3 there should be no possibility of Doom falling to a Schizophrenic Mercenary (also see Doomwar for a true Doom v Deadpool).Luk...
