    Synopsis

    Chapter 1

After the events in North Korea, Deadpool takes some time off in London. "Time off", however, means running into a Latverian assassination caper. Deadpool is aboard a helicopter and fights the Latverian assassins in order to save a beautiful girl. He succeeds in killing the men, but this means that the helicopter has no pilot and Deadpool and the girl crash into the Thames River. Deadpool pulls the girl out of the water and performs CPR and saves her life. She pulls his mask off and sees how hideous he is (supposedly from the crash) and runs to get him help.

Deadpool recovers from his wounds on a park bench. He feels someone reach around him and goes into attack mode. The person states that the message has been delivered and runs away. Deadpool sees that the person is a vampire so he chases the guy through London. There is a minor scuffle in which Deadpool is bitten and the vampire is disgusted at the taste. The vampire boards a bus and "tricks" Deadpool into thinking the vampire became invisible - Deadpool fights the air.

At a mansion, the vampire, Raoul, confirms that the message was delivered and that he was not followed. Deadpool busts in and refutes the claim. He then stabs Raoul through the heart. Dracula appears from the shadows and states that Raoul was to have delivered a message to Deadpool. Deadpool finds the message and learns that Dracula wants to hire him.

    Chapter 2

Dracula uses his hypnotic powers and orders Deadpool to shoot himself in the head. Deadpool informs Dracula that he is immune to such attacks. Convinced, Dracula states that he is set to marry the rule of the Monster Metropolis, a union that will unite the warring factions of monsters and vampires. He notes that there is opposition on both sides, but that the marriage must take place. Deadpool is to retrieve the coffin of the dead queen located on the Arabian Peninsula.

Deadpool arrives at the tomb and immediately finds that others have died in search of the coffin. In fact, he finds a masked team of men called the Word about to destroy the coffin. Deadpool shoots each, but they are bamf-ers. The fight gets tough but Deadpool starts sticking swords where his assailants may teleport to. This works, although one guy teleports to a weird spider-bomb-thing. This bomb explodes and starts bringing the tomb down. Deadpool finds a waterway and tosses the coffin into the river. He and the coffin emerge outside the tomb. He notes a slight crack in the coffin's facade, but doesn't think much of it.

Amazing. Just amazing There's just so much in it, and the action never stops. Deadpool is such a great character, (my favorite) and they really defined him in this (one). A great series for a great character, and it was just well done. The (character) needed certain things for him to be what we have come to expect from him, and the expectations were exceeded....

    Pause 0

Why "Pause?" Well, because I can't really dig the current issues of Deadpool. Shikla was just kinda thrown at those of us who didn't want to pay for the online comic because we knew we'd buy the physical copy. So, I am pausing my reading of the current run until these seven issues are released and then I'll pick up and read as I should have read starting in issue 27.Why five stars? Because that is how nice it is to read something by Duggan and Posehn that isn't drawn by Lucas. (I see he drew iss...
