Seriously?? Both of Justin Jordan's books are being cancelled????!!! Why??!
Hes going to be on Superboy now. The books just had bad sales.

Red Lanterns is like that d bag on survivor who never gets voted off because no one likes him and the other survivors know they can take them to the end as they won't get any votes...
LOL -- BUT HE CAN CHANGE!

Seems like every few months sense the new 52 started there about 3 to six titles getting cancelled. Way to go D.C. send me to Marvel.
You were buying any of these books? The sales don't show that there are many people buying it.

Seriously, we can't cancel Batwing yet? Who is reading it? And that redesign is just Iron Man crossed with Black Panther. Or maybe Batman Beyond.
Without the WINGS, the name Batwing is kinda pointless, no?
I heard rumor, one of the replacement books is Red Robin, and that's why they took Lobdell off Red Hood.
id totally buy it if Lobdell wasnt on it.

@doordoor123: Jordan only had 2 issues on Deathstroke and 4 on Team 7

@Jonny_Anonymous: Yup, I foresee 4 new bat-books and 1 or 2 new lantern spin-offs to come, maybe a new superman title since he's got big plans this summer.
sounds about right.
also changing creative teams on books that aren't even out yet? That is a bad sign.

Nooo!!!! I just started reading Deathstroke with #15 and 16 and its been awesome. Definitely sad to see it go so quickly after picking it up.
Wonder if/what will replace these titles?
DAMN!!
Deathstroke was /just/ starting to get good again...I'm also going to sorely miss I Vampire, which was on my top ten best of the New 52 since the beginning. I'm surprised that they're cancelling Ravagers so soon, although to be honest, the book wasn't that great anyway, I was reading it solely for Beast Boy and Rose Wilson. With the cancellation of Team 7 too, I just hope Deathstroke sticks around. Although, I can't help but wonder why they're cancelling three fairly new titles, is it because JLA, Snyder's Superman Vibe, Katana etc are coming and they want to stick with this "There can only be 52" mentality?
@animehunter said:
Except for Ravagers and Sword of Sorcery never really cared much for the others. it's just unfortunate that we don't get to see any more development of these characters: Rose Wilson, Caitlin Fairchild & Amethyst, but I hope I'm wrong and we still get to see them play a big part in some books.
This.
I need my Rose, damn it >.< Ravagers just got a new writer that actually looked like he was taking the book in a good direction. I wanted to see Rose finally get some freaking development in the New 52, but noooo. Ugh, she'd better show up somewhere else. Maybe even find her way back to Superboy, I don't care. I just need my Rose fix.
So, 6 books gone, standard DC practice seems to be replace with 6 more books, correct? What's the Over/Under on how many will be Batman related? (either headlining a Bat-family character or a team with a Bat character) I'm thinking 2.

Me too.
New creative team on Batwing could be interesting. Not surprised the rest of these books got cancelled. Hawkman is better in a team book, Deathstroke series got off to a terrible start and never recovered. The rest of them didn't have a chance to begin with.
dam i didnt see deathstroke, team 7 and sword of sorcery geting canceled so soon i figured they had at least a year befor dc would give them the axe now i dont know if i wont to keep reading their series now and all the others i knew they where going on the next wave but how did red lanterns, dial h, and gi combat not get on the list
Holy crap, Sword of Sorcery got canned fast. That's too bad, I heard people liked it, I was gonna get the trade. The rest of it, whatev.
Damn a lot of books ending. The Batwing cover looks freaking awesome though!
@crevicekid: I think since its involved with the upcoming First Lantern crossover is the reason why Red Lanterns hasn't been cut. We don't know how long the Wrath of the First Lantern, so I guess its staying for that crossover. After that, I guess anything can happen.... Unless a third Green Lantern crossover happens after the First Lantern crossover. Although the chances of that happening is very slim.
We'll have to wait and see what happens.
Crap I really liked Hawkman and Deathstroke but to me it seems like DC seemed to give them the shaft a lot. Oh well as long as they arent replaced by yet another Batman or Superman title I'm alright.

You know they will be. I wouldn't be surprised if they started adding Bat- on to random new books just to get them to sell The Bat-Atom, All-Bat Squadron, Wild B.A.T.S ect
I'd like them to use this as an opportunity for something more 'elseworld-y' or maybe a title to expand on Earth-2's universe. While I'm wishing, I'd like to see a new take on The Outsiders. I just re-read "The Nail" where the team is portrayed exactly how I'd like to see them...maybe throw them on Earth-2 hehe. Maybe, just maybe we finally see a Cyborg title so everyone can stop begging for one.
WOW Team 7 didn't even Last!
WTF?? WHy is Deathstroke Cancelled? The book was getting awsome!!! It's all Rob Liefeld's Fault.
Why isn't WORLD FINEST cancelled? Worst DC book.
Why cancel Deathstroke? It just started being good again ffs.
And SoS just begun
Does DC even know what they're doing? Have any sort of "plan"?
Good news.....don't put out any new titles but those already announced. I think DC really needs to slow down with the number of titles it has rather than keep shooting from the hip and trying to see what works and what doesn't. Overall the new 52 has not gone very well, IMHO, because there have been too many directions and not enough cohesion. Reduce the number of titles, take some time to properly introduce new character or changes to characters and see which become fan favorite for later solo series rather than try a solo series to see if the character will be liked.
Didn't care for any of the titles being canceled but hope that Beast Boy and Tera will find their way onto Teen Titans. Ravagers just didn't have a good direction and should have been Doom Patrol anyways and had a tone more in-line with X-Men/X-Gen rather than make them a second-rate Teen Titans.

I wonder when Red Lanterns will finally get the chop? I only get it so I don't miss anything Lantern related.
@millennium said:

For all of you asking about Red Lanterns - it's selling at around 40K. That's about three times as much as most of these listed. It economically makes sense to keep the book around. Though I agree it's a very mediocre book and I'd much rather have seen that gone (and potentially replaced with a better Lantern spin-off) than Sword of Sorcery which I liked quite a bit and is being cut very short.
@fodigg: Right there with you, Fodigg. You think DC would've fought a little harder (or at all) to try to boost sales. Alas. Gotta say, this switching up of creative teams and constantly dropping titles is starting to tick me off and I'm a huge DC fan. It's making me less likely to risk buying a new book for fear of it getting canceled.
There's not really any surprise here. Each of these titles is selling rather poorly at the bottom of the DC sales chart. Their December sales were as follows:
#37 - 16k - RAVAGERS
#40 - 15k - TEAM 7
#44 - 14k - SWORD OF SORCERY
#45 - 14k - SAVAGE HAWKMAN
#46 - 14k - DEATHSTROKE
#49 - 12k - FURY OF THE FIRESTORM
The weird part is that DEMON KNIGHTS and BATWING are selling worse than Team 7, and STORMWATCH is selling worse than Ravagers, and yet they survived the cut...
And for those wishing RED LANTERNS was getting cancelled, it's sitting pretty at #21 (39k), so I wouldn't hold your breath :P
I was afraid that was going to happen to Sword of Sorcery - it's not really connected to anything else in the DCU, and that's the quickest way to get cancelled at DC. It's a shame, because everything in it was excellent.
I wasn't reading any of the other titles, but a few of the cancellations surprise me. Deathstroke, just because the title had a long run before, so I figured the fans would be there for that. I figured fans of the YJ Teen Titans would keep Ravagers alive, and I figured DC would keep Team 7 alive, because it was one of the only books answering questions about the early days of the New 52.
As far as Savage Hawkman, I had no interest. I was really digging the previous Hawkman title, before DC shifted it to Hawkgirl. I felt like it was a good way to use the Hawkman character. This New 52 version, more armored, and carrying that stupid looking sword-thing (I didn't like it in the 1994 version either), was not something I could bring myself to call Hawkman.
Firestorm hasn't made any sense to me since it stopped be Ronnie Raymond & Dr. Stein. The Firestorm Matrix was a nice attempt at reconciling all the various versions, but even that doesn't make sense. There have been hundreds of Firestorms? And we've known about nuclear energy how long? What is he? DC's Captain Universe? I had no interest in the New 52 version.
Awww, I was really liking Savage Hawkman and Fury of Firestorm, that really sucks cuz I like both characters :(
I'm done with trying to read new DC books, no matter how good they are nobody gives them a chance, not even DC so what the hell's the point?
Deathstroke!!! No!!! I waited over a year to read this book because Liefeld finally left and now Justin Jordan isn't even given the chance to increase sales? The first two issues were great IMO... Grrr...
hopefully none of the new titles are in the 'young justice' group so it will only have two titles now, lol
wow. I am genuanlly suprised that Team 7, Sword & Sourcery and the Ravagers are getting the boot. I mean, sure out of all 3 of those series i only read Ravagers (and only because Beast Boy was in it..... or at least a sappy non-joky version of him that was red.... seriously red? really) and stoped after issue 7, and i knew that it wasn't really going to last but I had expected it to last beyond 10 issues. The same for Team 7, a book set years before the main continuity with earlier versions of other characters is a book with a short life span, but I also expected it to last longer than this. Sword and Sourcery, well I didn't hear much about it, so no opinion really.
Deathstroke: sure it had a new creative team who were bigging up the book once more, but the damage of the previous teams has already been done, sorry to say. Firestorm: honestly i never heard much about this book, and I even forgot that it was still a running series, but i guess that in the end forgetfullness is almost as bad, if not worse, than bad writing. Hawkman: Now this really suprised me, especially considering that he's slated to be a main member of the JLA book as his book sales may have been boosted due to the release of JLA (or at least for a while). Now i only read the first volume in trade, so as to how the series has progressed so far I cant comment, but i thought it was a good series, hell it had a more dignified and understandable crossover with Statick Shock than, well, the larger dc titles (im looking at you first few volumes of Batman: Dark knight).
I've said it time and again, as have many of you here, this constant cancelling of titles is not doing the new 52 much good. Sure the sales of Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman (and all their related titles) may be stable but the main point of having so many titles is that you can go beyond the main guys, but with so much chaos going on behind the scenes at DC with all these cancellings, writers leaving/ getting fired and internal (i guess investigations would be a good word here) investigation at the editorial staff we the readers are suffering as we cannot commit to titles to which we don't know if it will last untill the next year. The large "justice league" and related titles may make up the foundation of the new 52, but what's the point of making a foundation if you keep on knocking down the structures before finishing and starting from scratch again? So far the 52 is starting to lack the flavoure and substance which the big titles cannot offer us. (thats not to say that i dont like them, i do, but well you know what im trying to say.)
Well we know that a Snyder Superman title is coming this year, so I hope that we can finally get a Cyborg title (because DC is missing out on a title where the main hero cannot have a secret identity and the stories that can develop from that) and maybe a doom patroll book? I mean they have introduced beast boy and robot man in the new 52, so why not?
