WW was successful. It made more money than superman, batman, green lanturn and justice league films. This was really risky for them. I don't think were gonna see another WW animated movie soon unless she gets her own live-action film.I'm fine with her just playing as a supporting cast but I would like to see a solo animated film sometime in the future.

The animated movies are the only good adaptations that DC has done.

@ratman19: They aren't terrible (OK Iron Man and Dr Strange are) they just aren't as good as most DC. Ultimate Avengers 1 was good (better than Gotham Knight) and Planet Hulk although condensed and a few changes was good. One thing I can say for Marvel Animation they are defiantly getting on track with TV series and IMO are better than DC although they are focused on series and DC are on movies

Fear not... they are still going to make animation. Atleast, in some fashion or another...

    http://comicbook.com/blog/2012/08/13/warner-premiere-distributors-of-dc-animated-films-shuts-down/

Deadline quotes a source at Warner Brothers as saying, “the evaluation of potential digital content will be folded into Warner Bros. Digital Distribution, and Warner Bros. Animation and Warner Home Video will continue to produce and release animated films, such as Scooby Doo, Tom and Jerry and DC Universe.”

@ratman19: They aren't getting rid of EMH its just changing name to Avengers Assemble. Plus Ultimate Spider-Man isn't that bad I personally prefer it to Green Lantern, but I have to admit Young Justice is good, the only series I preferred was EMH and hopefully it's nothing more than a name change like they said. I'm not looking forward to the new Batman series as it looks crap

that was what Loeb said and absolutely no one is buying it....if Avengers Assemble is a continuation of EMH then why are they changing the animation and voice actors...plus you can guarantee that they will never reference anything from EMH...Loeb only said that to try and calm everyone down and stop calling him an a$$hat

The article linked in the original post to this thread states that WB will still release animated features, so there is nothing to panic about.

Edit: oops, missed that someone had already posted that, sorry...

so we know dc animated movies are still going to be made, but does this closure have any impact on the output of movies being made or what type, meaning will WB make fewer dc movies a year then before or is that not impacted? Also, since dvd sales are lowering, does this mean WB will only want surefire hits meaning we will only see batman/superman films and possibly WB not wanting to make movies based on other heroes like flash?

@andy74: Batman &/or Superman (and maybe Justice League) films are really all we are getting now. Wonder Woman was the one & only female lead movie that was produced and there are now plans for a sequel. Green lantern only got a sequel to promote his turkey of a movie. Even the Supergirl movie was labeled Superman/ Batman. I figure the only way we will get a film that is not heavily focusing on Sups or Bats is if it is to promote a theatrical movie. So if Wonder Woman or Flash get a big budget feature film then we will probably see a made for blu-ray cartoon feature to promote it.

I've just checked, and no, they're not going to stop making movies. They even have two movies planned after TDKR Part 2: Flashpoint and Superman: Brainiac

I haven't found any evidence that this is true.

It is not true, because the Orignal Post is over 3 years old !

Maybe if they'd adapt other characters stories into an animated movie instead of focusing on Batman and the Justice League all the time. This wouldn't happen.

Plus I made a link of top 3 characters that deserve their own animated movie: http://comicvine.gamespot.com/forums/gen-discussion-1/top-3-dc-characters-that-deserve-their-own-animate-1728590/

Maybe, but Batman movies sell well.

@codysf: Would definitely be interested to see how many people who are lamenting the (now apparently unlikely) demise of the movies actually paid to see/rent/download them. I'm sure some of them have, no doubt, but I bet a large proportion haven't.
