Now back to normal and with their own powers, Superman and Captain Marvel try to get Superman back into his own world.
By speaking the wizard's name, "Shazam", simultaneously, Captain Marvel and Superman are able to regain their proper powers and costumes. Earlier that day, Billy Batson had witnessed a crashing helicopter. Speaking his magic word, Batson was stunned to find that he was transformed into Captain Marvel, but in possession of Superman's costume and powers. After rescuing the helicopter, and foiling some thieves, Captain Marvel was on his way to Superman's Earth, when he encountered the Man of Steel, wearing Captain Marvel's costume. Mister Mxyzptlk took credit for the power/costume shift, and also for trapping the Man of Steel on Captain Marvel's Earth. Before departing for the Rock of Eternity, to try to send Superman home, Captain Marvel meets up with Mary Batson, Freddie Freeman and Uncle Dudley. Batson and Freeman say their magic words, transforming into Mary Marvel and Captain Marvel, Jr. Uncle Dudley says "Shazam", but then merely removes his suit to reveal his Uncle Marvel costume. Captain Marvel asks the Marvel Family to look after the world, while he aids Superman in returning to his own Earth. Superman and Captain Marvel slam into a mystic barrier surrounding the Rock of Eternity, barring Superman's path back home. The two check on the wizard, only to find him fast asleep. The sound of laughter echoes through the Rock of Eternity, heralding the arrival of Mister Mxyzptlk, Mister Mind and King Kull.
His natural abilities augmented by Mister Mxyzptlk's magics, King Kull proves more than a match for both Superman and Captain Marvel. Coordinating their efforts, Superman and Captain Marvel charge King Kull, only to be hurled into another dimension by MIster Mxyzptlk. King Kull is infuriated over Mister Mxyzptlk's robbing him of his rightful kill. King Kull only threw in with Misters Mind and Mxyzptlk so that he could first enslave the populace of Earth, then annihilate them. Mister Mind recalls his arrival on Earth, and his early efforts at conquest in concert with the Monster Society of Evil. Having failed to take possession of the Earth, MIster Mind does not oppose King Kull's desire to destroy it. Mister Mxyzptlk, though, is less enthused with the idea. A prankster at heart, the idea of murdering millions of civilians does not sit well with the 5th dimensional imp. To interfere with their plan, however, Mister Mxyzptlk would have to return to his home dimension, thus canceling all the effects of his enchantments. Mister Mind rightly infers, though, that Mister Mxyzptlk has absolutely no desire to return home, and thus will take no action against them. Mister Mind and King Kull leave the Rock of Eternity for Earth, to begin their conquest of the world. Mister Mxyzptlk spies on Captain Marvel and Superman. A panicked cry leads them to discover that the world they have been transported to, is entirely populated by anthropomorphic rabbits.
The strange creatures are imperiled by a giant mechanical rabbit, piloted by MIster Mind. Despite their best efforts, the "Robbit" seems impervious to Superman and Captain Marvel's power. King Kull arrives at the United Nations to begin his conquest of the world. While Uncle Dudley works on strategy, Captain Marvel, Jr. and Mary Marvel take on King Kull, only to be defeated in a matter of seconds. Meanwhile, the two rabbits that Mister Mxyzptlk exchanged for Captain Marvel and Superman, appear on Captain Marvel's Earth. Arrested for disturbing the peace, the two rabbits, Hoppy and Millie, are hauled away by the police. Eavesdropping on the police officers, Hoppy learns that the Marvel Family is in trouble. After Millie has feinted, from the shock of being transported to such a strange world, Hoppy says the magic word to become Captain Marvel Bunny. Uncle Marvel pulls Captain Marvel Bunny aside to formulate a battle plan. With King Kull proceeding apace with his plans, and the lives of Mary Marvel and Captain Marvel, Jr. in jeopardy, Captain Marvel Bunny forgoes a plan in favor of a full frontal charge. With both Captain Marvel and Superman in the clutches of Mister Mind's "Robbit", Mister Mxyzptlk finally makes the decision to return to his home dimension, breaking his enchantments. The Wizard awakens on the Rock of Eternity. The "Robbit" and KIng Kull lose their magically enhanced abilities. Superman and Captain Marvel demolish the "Robbit". At that same moment, Captain Marvel Bunny clobbers King Kull. With the villains defeated, Captain Marvel Bunny takes Millie back to his own world. Superman also return to his Earth. Late that same afternoon, Jimmy Olsen finds Clark Kent reading a "Hoppy the Marvel Bunny" comic book.
