This led to deal with the D.C. Comics imprint Piranha Press, where they spent the next three years creating BEAUTIFUL STORIES FOR UGLY CHILDREN, turning out a story a month and gaining positive media response from MOTHER JONES, MTV, and THE NATION. In its first year, BSFUC received five nominations for the Eisner Award. The Beautiful Stories stopped publishing in 1992 and Dan and Dave both turned to Hollywood.
