Cyclops
Character » Cyclops appears in 11232 issues.
The first X-Man, Scott Summers possesses the mutant ability to fire powerful concussive blasts through his eyes that act as a portal to another dimension full of the force that makes up his optic blast. He is visually distinctive for the ruby quartz visor he wears to control his devastating power. A born leader, Cyclops succeeded his mentor Professor X to command the X-Men.
Does everybody dislike/hate him now?
when i first saw it i thought it was superman man cuz you no how some people think he overpowered BTW i never hated him
That is the biggest issue. Him being the leader of the X-men and mutant kind right now makes it hard for a solo series. However why not just show the more personal side of Scott Summers? Why doesn't he get a spot on some Avengers team. I mean Wolverine is a more unlikely member and he gets a spot. Cyke is a born leader and authoritarian. To me, comic book wise, he rivals that of Steve Rogers, I actually give Scott the edge because I think he will make the choices that Cap wouldn't. Call me nuts but yeah I like him haha.
" @TheCrowbar: Though it would be cool to see Cyclops get his own series there's only one issue with that. He's too big of a player to go and be his own guy, there's too much on him as it is in the X-men. What I love about Cyclops and his work is there's no real analogue for him other than maybe Black Bolt? A leader of a small band of people that look to him for leadership and protection? I have no particular reason for this, but I've ALWAYS hated Cyclops. Even back when I watched the first tv show back when I was a kid I just thought he was kind of a dousche. Idk maybe it was because I liked Wolverine and they always fought. Plus he's got like the worst power ever. More of a curse really. He's either gotta always wear sun glasses, or a Star Trek visor...
bottom line is...his character has changed alot since he and apocalypse merged together wayyy back in the 12 storyline....i personally like this one better
One of Marvel's best characters ever. Easily the best X-Character, and a character who reflects his writer. Good writers write him well, poor writers write him terribly.
I disliked his treatment of Hellion in Fables of Reconstruction arc.Who wrote that arc? If you don't mind my asking.
Never was a fan of the whiny one eyed mutey till he started getting darker. Who doesn't like gray area characters though
- Due to Marvel's disturbing trend of making everyone in a leadership position look and act like a compete tool, many people who were not fans of him can no longer stand him based on how he is written. Xavier, Stark, etc have all been butchered, now it's Scott's turn.
- As for who is next to be abused is anyone's guess.

This
I dislike him, but I liked him during the 90's. I made a thread questioning his leadership and Utopia's governing, but as a team leader I think he does a good job. I don't think he is a superhero anymore the X-Men in general are a very gray group these days. like a super rouge perhaps.
I don't hate him, but I strongly dislike him. His views are, in my opinion, hypocritical and just plain dumb. Now there's room for characters like this, but not if they aren't called out on their crap and quite frankly Cyclops isn't called out on the right crap.
Hates a strong word...actually, Squirrel Girl probably hates him. But she hates everyone, only because hate is what fuels her massive power set. Someone that powerful has to be a Sith. Otherwise I don't think any of the other mutants hate him. Not even Wolverine, they're actually just having a lovers quarrel. Once Emma dies and Scott can focus more of his attention Wolverine everything will be right in Mutantland again. I also love the taste of feta cheese, but you already knew that.
While I'm not fond of the direction they're taking Cyke in, specifically in AvX, I still consider him to be my favorite X-Man and comic book character of all time. So, no, I don't dislike him. I do dislike the way certain writers *cough*Aaron, Bendis, & Fraction*cough* portray him as of late, but their work can be easily ignored when Gillen is providing an excellent portrayal of him in Uncanny X-Men.

Nothing will ever be right in mutantland again the schism runs to deep

@BlackArmor: I've seen that before but I just noticed the claw marks in the wall, lmao XD
Yeah, I like to think Wolverine just used the wall to practice slicing instead of any other reasons for the claw marks to be there............
Due to recent events (and well, bad writing), I don't exactly like Cyclops.
But retrospectively speaking, Cyclops has always been one of my favourite classic heroes.
I mean he has gotten married, cheated on her (twice, but one was a demonic b1tch), met his long lost brother, met his space pirate father, led the X-Men on and off, started X-Factor, met his alternative timeline daughter Rachel, his future son Cable, his alternate dimension son X-Man, fought his evil brother Vulcan, led the entire race off the brink of extinction, saved the Messiah of the mutant race, and fought against Wolverine WHILE FIGHTING A GIANT ROBOT. Even in AoA, he starts off a bad guy, but because he's Cyclops, he became a good guy.
Above all, he has survived all that shizz without any writer ever killing him off and finding a story of resurrection, regardless of how much of a douche he's been throughout the years.
Oh, and this.
Pretty much this.I think he's a great character, but unfortunately, he's been the victim of bad writing for a number of years now.
When you have simpletons writing a complex character, it's never going to end well.

I still like Cyke, however I approve of this message otherwise. lol When you put his bio up like this it's just made of awesome. XD
