    Corkscrew was a mutant tryout for the X-Statix team who had the ability to turn his fingertips into thin bladelike tendrils and would often whip them around in a spiral, creating a drill effect.

    Brief History

    Corkscrew tried out for the X-Statix team, and, in the tryouts, killed his opponent by drilling his fingers through his opponent's chest. Though Corkscrew was qualified, the Spike realized that Corkscrew's mutant gene had made him crazy and therefore unreliable. Doop then took Corkscrew out in the woods alone and "took care of him" by chopping him up with an axe.
