I notice that on boards, there's a smooth side, and there's a rough side.

I wanted to ask which side the board should be touching the back of the comic: the smooth or rough side? Is there is proper way to do so? Are there any advantages/disadvantages to it?

smooth side, rough can scratch the back of the comic.

Or maybe people just like to feel the different textures against their faces.

I've been to some comic stores that went real cheap and had some cardboard.
