I know Civil War is pretty old now but in it's aftermath did it make you think differently about any characters? Is there anyone you liked beforehand that you really don't now because of their actions in accordance with the registration act or against it?
Civil War
Following a catastrophic tragedy caused by superhumans, the US Government passes a Super-Human Registration Act that requires all super-powered individuals in the country to reveal their identities, disclose their powers and personal details, and register as government employees or risk indefinite incarceration. This causes a deep rift in the hero community, with some backing the Act while others oppose it.
Did Marvel's Civil War make you start disliking any characters?
My mind's changed when Captain America went against the registration act. I'm sorry, but while he's preaching about freedom, the security was more important to families of the countries when there are super powered beings that can blow up a house with a flick of a finger. The audacity of Cap was sheer moronic.
" Iron Man, and Reed Richards. I didn't care about Iron Man at all before Civil War though, so maybe that's an improvement. Richards just looked like an idiot though. CW lowered my opinion of his character significantly. "I agree with the part about Reed.It seemed like he would stop at nothing to do whatever Tony asked. He almost ruined his marriage.
" The Thing Spiderman and the usual suspects. "You disliked the Thing more after Civil War? I actually liked him more.
For me there was no redemption after running away to France. Didnt matter what he did beyond that point." @Gambler said:

Not really sure, not much of a Spiderman guy to begin with. Something about "Brand New Day" lol. I think it retconned his big reveal.
" @Gambler said:Spider-Man's newest arcs seem to be rehashes of things he's already done with a new twist. All of the significant things in his past, you can expect to return. Also I think Anti-Venom got his own spin-off mini.I actually like what is being done with Spider-Man although it's not very original." Besides that like a lot said. Iron Man. Not really in bringing about the registration act. But how he went about doing it. For those who have read the What If Civil War comic, there is one of the stories in it (believe the 2nd story) is how things should of gone down.
Hank Pym, you have no idea of how happy I was when I find out he was actually a Skrull the whole time.
" @Ebony Sparrow said:lol seriously? That's a let down. Might have been interesting. Though a stupid move by Peter for even revealing his identity in the first place. For me there was no redemption after running away to France. Didnt matter what he did beyond that point." @Gambler said:

@Ebony Sparrow said:What I like is how they are making Spider-Man's rouges more credible and not just canon fodder than manages to beat him just for the plot. They have actually made them better. Also he's not doing a bunch of crying and brooding. He's back to being Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man." @JackAs said:I actually noticed the issues with Anti-venom. Since Civil War I was growing a hate towards Bishop.... he used to be such a cool character, but since Civil War nothing would be the same with him again.
Iron Man, Mr. Fantastic, Ms. Marvel, Wonderman, Black Widow and probably more that i can't think of right now. To realize there's a need to keep an eye on
super-powered beings and then to think the government is up to the task is ludicrous. The government is layers of beauracracy rife with corruption, incompetence
and complacency. Then take into account the inherent politics of government oversight and imagine the one political party that masquerades as two (re: Democrats and Republicans)
and how the misuse of these people, their power(s) and their abilities would be inevitable in the hands of the government. Anyone with powers becomes just another
tool to be used to push whatever agenda(s) the politicians and beaurocrats choose. Anyone with any sense of reality would never be naive enough to trust the government
to put aside partisanism and vendettas and do what is right. The government is not an altruistic entity. It never has been and never will be. Someone with powers and/or abilities
that make them able to become a superhero whom chooses to do just that, already has the gumption, courage and conscience necessary for the job. He/she does'nt need the
government tainting his/her motivation and efforts. The heroes would be better off policing themselves without government intervention/interference co-opting and corrupting them.
What pissed me off was Luke and the NA in the beginning of CW. I felt that instead of going by the facts they just went by what Steve said and didn't give Tony a second thought. Carol gave them mad passes during the Iniative and basically saved their asses but continued to be rebels. In the beginning I hated Stark because he was my hero at the time, I was a crazed Tony fan broken by his decision but as I read CW and what it meant to keep the people safe...freedom to do whatever you want had no meaning because the safety of America should have been Steve's first thought. Cival War made me appreciate bitchy Maria Hill, gain interested in a to sympathetic Ms. Marvel, and accept the entire idea of registered heroes lol
Iron Man was a HUGE douchebag. The only time I liked him was in the Wolverine Civil War Comics because Iron Man had some support for Wolverine's attack on Nitro. Random fact: There's a JFK/ Lee Harvey Oswald/ Jack Ruby reference in Front Line Issue 46 i think. Some guy shot Robbie Baldwin
reed richards in civil war annoyed me he basicly ignored his family completly till he was up agasint them.
Ahh, I disconnected from Marvel long before Civil war, but in my opinion, Civil War was a great idea that was badly implemented, based on a premise that doesn't work in the marvel universe and thus it couldn't do anything else but fail. Really I'm surprised Tony Stark didn't act even douchier.
@manchine: yeah... they're making a movie adaptation u know
