    Surprisingly Great

Hello Viners. I originally thought about continuing my reviews with Batman Begins. I don't know why I decided to do this instead. Maybe I'm a sucker for bad movies, maybe I just have a crush on Halle Berry and won't admit it, or maybe I'm just insane. Who knows? Anyway, I'm writing this little opening before I've seen the film. I just decided to do Catwoman, and I knew how I wanted to word this opening. So let's get started.

    The Good

Before I go into the good of the film, I have to make one thing clear: to appreciate this film, you have to forget everything you know about Catwoman/Selina Kyle. I'm not saying this should replace your memory of her, just remember that this is different from what you know of her.

    • Halle Berry - She was great in the role of Catwoman/Patience Phillips. Why all the hate for her? I know she got a Razzie award for her performance. Why? She was great. Good acting, looked great, etc. I see nothing wrong with her.
    • Halle Berry was hot - She was extremely hot in the film. She looked good at the beginning, she looked even better after her hair was cut, etc. She looked great in the sin-tight leather. While the mask did look a bit weird, her amazing body made up for that. Only Halle Berry could manage to make rubbing catnip all over her face look kind of sexy.
    • Laurel Hedare - Hot and evil (kind of). What more could you want from a female villain?
    • Tom Lone - Liked the character, thought the actor was good, and the romance between him and Patience was good. Not great, but good. No complaints.
    • Tom Lone seemed like an actual detective - He just did. I can believe all the work he did was reality. That's good.
    • Not a lot of cat jokes - When people keep complaining about going overboard with cat-puns, I expected it to be like Mr. Freeze in Batman & Robin. But it wasn't. There were a few, but they didn't go overboard with the cat-puns like people say they did.
    • Sally - Nice little supporting character. Nothing too special, but certainly not bad.
    • The Music - Music was pretty good too. Not as good as other films, but once you get used to it, it's very good music.
    • Final Lines - "The day I died was the day I started to live. In my old life, I longed for someone to see what was special in me. You did, and for that, you'll always be in my heart. But what I really needed was for me to see it. And now I do. You're a good man, Tom. But you live in a world that has no place for someone like me. You see, sometimes I'm good. Oh, I'm very good. But sometimes I'm bad. But only as bad as I wanna be. Freedom is power. To live a life untamed and unafraid is the gift that I've been given, and so my journey begins." Great way to end it. Certainly not as awesome as something like The Dark Knight Rises or The Avengers, but still a great way to end a film. Plus Halle was doing a sexy walk, so you had to love it.

    The Bad

    • The opening credits suck - They just suck.
    • Skin Moisturizer giving you extremely hard skin - You read that right.
    • That basketball scene - Wasn't that good. Reminded me too much of the playground fight scene in Daredevil.
    • No Michelle Pfeiffer cameo? - I had read that there was a cameo in a picture with Michelle Pfifer in the Catwoman suit in Batman Returns. I love Michelle Pfeifferr, so I was happy to see her again (even if it was only a picture). But I never saw her. Maybe I just missed something, but I never saw her. Sad...
    • Where's my sequel? - Why no sequel? I know it got horrible reviews, but it was great. Why no sequel? Sucky movies like The Amazing Spider-Man get one, but not this?
    • So much hate - Generally regarded as one of the worst films of all time. Why? The only thing I can see that people don't like is how much they changed Catwoman. So what? When do you hear people b*tching about the changes in Batman Begins? This movie gets a lot of bad publicity, which sucks.
    • Tom Lone reminded me of John Blake (In the Dark Knight Rises) - When he first showed up, he reminded me of John Blake for some reason. I have no clue why. It made me uneasy.
    • Most of my complaints are small nit picks - I just had to point that out...

    My Final Verdict

One question: Why all the hate? It was a fantastic movie. I don't see why this got so much hate. I really don't. After a few google searches, I learned I'm not the only one who thinks this. So, that makes me feel good. And a few things I said here may make you think I only liked this film for Halle Berry in the costume. While that was a nice bonus, I truly liked the film.

    My Overall rating: 3.5/5 Stars

Also, most of these reviews are giving it about 1 star. Why does no one call it a "catastrophe?" Just struck me as odd.

      Seriously guys, calm down 0

First of all, people are comparing this movie to the actual Catwoman, Selina Kyle. But you guys need to keep in mind, this movie is not a direct adaptation of the comic, this movie is inspired by the comic Catwoman, most of the negative reviews are because this doesn't  "stick to the comic"  - when it's not supposed to.  About Artist Patience Phillips (played by Halle Berry - Storm from X-Men) works for a high-end cosmetic company. One day, she discovers that the same cosmetics company has in...

      Catwoman... in a sense. 0

This movie strayed so much from the original Catwoman story that I'm not sure what to make of it. I can say that it wasn't very good. However, it focused on the power and mysticism of cats and impressed upon their role in the transformation of Halle Berry's character, Constance. The main plight in the plot is concentrated on how women obsess over petty, superficial beauty. So you have the protagonist who is exploring the true nature and depth of what it means to be a woman, and the antagonist wh...
