SummaryJudd Winick’s series of Catwoman maintains it breakneck pace as Selina, after last week’s encounter with the meta-human “Reach”, hurtles 50,000 feet (or thereabouts) towards solid ground. This month’s instalment also begins to tie the sub-story concerning the GCPD into our main narrative, which comes to a head at the end of the issue. What I liked· Selina is not perfect: If you have read some of my other reviews, you’ll know that I don’t like it when our protagonist is a living, breathing ...

    Dirty Cop Money 0

Judd Winick started his Catwoman series off with controversy. Now that most of it is over we are finally starting to settle down into a story. How does issue five add onto all of the past issues and adds to the future?  THE GOOD: Guillem March's art work is pretty good. I really like he draws the city and I think that he gives Catwoman a special look that no other character has around her. The story is a bit better from what it has been in the past four issue. In this issue we get to see Catwoma...

Catwoman series has just a solid series. Seeing how Catwoman stood up against with someone with powers shows that she can’t be under estimated that easily. However in this book she can under estimate some opponents. This is one of my favorite titles in the entire DC 52 line. I’m excited to see more next month. I rate this book a 4.0 rating of 5.0 rating.http://djmaximusgodj.tumblr.com/1=wack, 1.5=falling asleep, 2=below average, 2.5=pick it up a bit, 3= average, 3.5=dope, 4=good, 4.5=excellent, ...

    Can't Catch A Break 0

Writer Judd Winick continues his fast-paced run on Catwoman where an impulsive Selina continues to find herself in over her head and barely making it out of these situations alive and in once piece.  After being thrown half a mile into the air at the end of last months issue, Catwoman scrambles to think of a way out of her predicament. After barely surviving and sustaining serious injuries (dislocated shoulder), Catwoman somehow manages to overpower and defeat Reach with minimal effort. After pu...

What's the fun in that? 0

I am a little torn on this issue.  There is a decent amount of stuff going on, and we do get to see a lot of traditional Selina, but the end also elicits one of the worst overall story arcs in the history of the character.  The issue breaks down roughly into three segments.  In the first Selina must figure a way out of her predicament as she has been launched several thousand feet into the air.  This leads to a decent resolution, and leads into the second part where Selina gets to act like Selin...

    Deep Adrenaline Overtones Return 0

So, the previous issue really had me worried that Winick had completely dropped the intense depth after the first arc had concluded, and that was the main reason I'd held off Catwoman when budgetary concerns came up, but I feel the fool now, because this issue turns things right back around to where they began. The first page explains the entire issue. A little flashback talking about the bits and pieces of a heist during one of Catwoman's early ones explains her entire m.o., and leads to a momen...
