So First she's a casual date and now a sidekick?
hye watch it ,if spider-man is d-bag ,everyone is d-bag ,you should see hellion ,he is a god damn son of a bitch.
" @Vance Astro said:Why doesn't it matter? Why do you think Spider-Man was retconned? Adding something to his story like a girlfriend whom is way more powerful than he is will hurt his character and the style of writing he falls under." @ka385385 said:doesn't matter ,everyone got their own opinion ,if the writer like ms.marvel/spider-man ,it probably would happen ,but wonderman/ms.marvel seem going to history. "" why not? Ms.Marvel and Spider-man can be a good couple ,like Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade(ok ,mabe Wonder similar as Johnny Cage but still Spider-man is the best.) what's Ms.Marvel and Spider-man's kid are going to call? "Comic book couples don't work.Ms.Marvel was better off with Simon (Wonder Man) because he's not a popular as she is thus she won't end up playing the background to someone like Spider-Man.Spider-Man doesn't need to be in a relationship with a superhero..it simply doesn't work for him and his style of character. "
" @Vance Astro: well......consider you are not spider-man's writer lol. "I don't have to be.The fact remains that someone can't play the underdog when their girlfriend and one shot all their villains.
I think with whats happening to Ms Marvel and whats going to happen in Spider-man 700 we can say with a fair amount of certainty that this scenario has been dropped by Marvel!

DeConnick the new Captain Marvel writer has said she has nothing against the couple and liked where Brian had been heading with their relationship quoting her interview when the suject of Spider-man came up "You never know what's going to happen when you sit down to start writing dialogue". She is also writing Avenging Spider-man 9-10 which feature Carol in her new suit for the first time. Also you could throw in that she's added Spider-man to the first issue of Captain Marvel. Which features Spidey training her (which is odd considering she is a btter fighter than him):
DeConnick (Captain Marvel writer) has said that she's not against the pairing. She's also writing Avenging Spider-man 9 which is almost prequeling Carols debut as Captain Marvel.
Through in the fact that Deconnick has also thrown Spider-man into issue 1 of Captain Marvel (Spider-man is training her or something. Which seems odd to me because Carol should be a much better fighter than him)
@Strider92: I don't think it's that odd to see Spidey doing some training with Carol. He's been established as one of the most proficient combatants in the Marvel U. She may have him beat in the raw strength department, but Peter has shown that he can hold his own against literally anyone in the world. Makes perfect sense for her to hone her skills with some one-on-one time.

It's odd, because Pete had a reputation for being a notoriously poor fighter, but it is certainly welcome to see his training acknowledged to such an extent in a book other than ASM, honestly.
Whats your thoughts on this? Yay or Ney? I can't really make up my mind tbh.
Shang-Chi's tutelage should be way beyond standard military training, particularly since they trained for a considerable time length, not just a session or two. Now, could they have had Carol train with, say, Captain America? Sure, it would likely make greater sense. But this is offbeat and I kinda like it.
@Strider92:That does make sense. I can't see a soldier no matter how well trained matching up to Chi's tutelage when you put it like that.

@Strider92: There's also a lot to be said for the benefits of experience. Spider-Man has been HTH fighting for well over two decades in the 616 at this point. That's a training class in and of itself.
Personality wise I think it has some potential but there is still the powerset barrier. I'm not sure how a writer could deal with this. I'd be interested to see an attempt though. Especially now the Captain Marvel writer has expressed interest in the pairing.@Morpheus_ said:

Not really much stranger than Spider-woman and Hawkeye.@Strider92: Thanks. It seem like an odd pairing. Also im surprised she is training with him after all the training she has had and he massive power difference over him.

Spider-Man has not been H2H fighting for over two decades in the 616 universe. How old do you think he is?@capelesscrusaderAh that old chestnut. marvel and their ageing has always been a mystery. He looks to be in his late twenties to early thirty's.
As this has been brought up how old is Carol anyway?

Its never really been established how old Carol is, but we know she was a Captain in the Air Force and I would say the average age for Captain in the Air Force is early 30s, then we'll say because Carol was a pilot and we'll assume she was really good at her job, considering all the special positions she held, late 20s. So right now I'd say early 30s.

@Nova`Prime`: Thx to OMD there's probably not such a big gap anymore.
It was weird that Parker went from mid to late 30's pre-OMD to mid to late 20's post-OMD.

@Strider92: are they even in any comics together anymore?
Nah......Clint is currently flirting with Spider-woman and Bobbi is still single. God damn Bendis lol......
@DEGRAAF said:
@Strider92: What comic can i currently find her in?
She's currently on the New Avengers team along with Spider-man, Wolverine, Ms Marvel, Thing etc.... She hasn't hand many appearances in the past 2-3 issues but thats mainly due to AvX. As soon as that is over it should be back to normal unless whatever happens in Spider-man 700 screws everyone up.
If this is well written I think both characters can only benefit. Count me on board for a Peter/Carol pairing.

Peter/Carol pairing can we see super powered Kid's in there Future
I think that would only happen in an alternate timeline. Also, imagine if any one the following pairing resulted in a child together in a respected alternate timeline:
Spider-Man x Silver Sable
Spider-Man x Psylocke
Spider-Man x She-Hulk(Jennifer Walters)
Spider-Man x The Black Widow
Spider-Man x Black Cat
Spider-Man x Spider-Woman
Spider-Man x Mystique(Peter should have at least one villain who has an interest in him)
And one of those combos would make their kids interesting.

Carol could have lowered her power level. While it may be an odd pairing between the two, a good writer could make things interesting. Too bad that neither Dan Slott or Brian Bendis are interested. But that's ok because I would rather see some else write the story with passion. Nonetheless, I would love to see this type of mutual friendship apply to the other heroines I have mentioned as well.
@darthfury78: I love all those pairing having Kid's, but not Mystique & Spider-Man maybe Logan & Mystique bring in some new Spidey female villain's
Am I the only one who was unaware that Mary Jane and Carol where friends and that Carol knew Peter quite a long time before she knew Spider-man?
@fodigg: At least i'm not the only one lol. I wonder why this wasn't acknowledged when Spider-man and MJ were around the Avengers tower with Carol -.o

Wow O.O Pete and Carol go waaaaay back then lol.
Its okay if characters have something similiar but not like spidey and spider=woman, thats just boring... people usually get atracted by oposites (batman as hero and catwoman as somewhat villain, but she isnt the exact oposite)
i just finished A S M #10 and their relationship isnt forced but realistic (her being more serious and spidey being immature and forever nerdy chicken at the end)
they have both been hurt in the past and are taking it slow...
generally speaking its hard to make some omnipotent character interesting (always hated 'indestructible' heroes, boring to me) but new ms. marvel has soul and i wouldnt mind if this team up runs more often (something like avengers adventures would be awesome)
hell they could even have their own name - dynamic duo :P
dont know , im new at comics (reunited after 15 yrs) but this two have potential

You would be surprised to learn that Spider-Man x Spider-Woman are not boring at all. Especially out of costume. I feel that the type of mutual relationship that Peter has with Carol Danvers could be applied to Jessica Drew as well as Jennifer Walters and the Black Widow. Peter doesn't have this type of friendship with Felicia Hardy at the moment. Also, their powers are different from each other, aside from sticking to walls. He shoots webs while She shoots Venom Blasts.
As for Peter being a nerdy chicken and immature, we have to remember that Kelly Sue isn't allowed to develop romantic tensions between Carol and Peter in the same manner that was done with Peter and Mary Jane or Peter and Betty Brant. And the head writer for Spider-Man doesn't want Spider-Man to be dating a super heroine.
