After encountering the Kree hero Captain Marvel, Carol Danvers was accidentally subjected to otherworldly radiation that transformed her into a superhuman warrior. Calling herself Ms. Marvel, she established herself as one of the most powerful and prominent heroes and respected member of the Avengers. She has now adopted the mantle of Captain Marvel for herself.
Carol is not fat, she is realistically built. Most comic book babes (ducks and covers from feminists) are built like supermodels and waifs with big boobs on small waists to get as much of an hourglass figure as possible without being deformed. For those of you who read avengers the initiative remember cloud 9 and how self conscious she was about her appearance compared to the other girls? I think much like that, the comment on Carols weight is an inside joke on the way most female heroes are drawn.
She's not fat, but she does have a more muscular physique as opposed to a regular human and most likey heavy set skeleton, but i guess that from her powers, id say she looks healthy comapaired to some of the others loool
