    Losing control of his powers, unable to stop the sensory overload in his mind, Captain Atom wants nothing more than to find a quiet place to regroup. But how can he shut out the signals floating in the air – especially when they're crying out for help?

    Captain Atom has a problem controlling his new powers as they are acting as an antenna making him unstable. This causes conflict at the Continuum on the danger. It also causes internal conflict with the Captain himself.

    The Captain in particular hears a little boy who needs help. The Captain then leaves on a mission of mercy to help a boy struggling with cancer. It is here that the Captain discovers just how god-like his powers are.

    In the prologue a man sees a dangerous dog that can actually mimic the man himself. It may be the man's first and last issue. In another prologue for Batman Noel, Batman tracts down a lead.

    After a sort of lackluster lead-in, this series produces a really good issue here.  The story was really well done as was most of the small things to do with it.  For instance I really liked at the beginning when Captain Atom has to reform himself and starts listing how hard it is by listing all the trace elements in the human body (though he missed a few.)  Really though this issue is about the second part as Nathaniel renders himself into a different form and attacks the cancer cells inside a ...

    The Good: Not only is the cover very pretty, it's more meaningful than it appears to be initially, and when the meaning becomes apparent, it's pretty touching.There's some pretty cool panel layouts, especially in the first few pages. This definitely gives the book a better feel to it, making the terrible stuff feel less terrible. There's some interesting things going on.
