Captain America
Character » Captain America appears in 11751 issues.
During World War II, Steve Rogers volunteered to receive the experimental Super-Soldier Serum. Enhanced to the pinnacle of human physical potential and armed with an unbreakable shield, he became Captain America. After a failed mission left him encased in ice for decades, he was found and revived by the Avengers, later joining their ranks and eventually becoming the team's leader.
who should play cap in the new movie
Well all the American actors with blue eyes and blonde hair are just pretty faces with no real talent
Craig has the looks, the Charisma, the talent, he can do fight scenes with the best of them
The only reason he wouldn't work is because he's British, which is where the first American settlers came from anyway
"Well all the American actors with blue eyes and blonde hair are just pretty faces with no real talentcould always use a no name. also craig looks old you need a more younger looking face.

"Ferro Vida said:He doesn't look that old, and Cap is in his mid thirties when he joins the Avengers, which is right after they find him."Well all the American actors with blue eyes and blonde hair are just pretty faces with no real talentcould always use a no name. also craig looks old you need a more younger looking face."

ha!! he is not he was 18 when he joined the army he fought in war world II frozen right before the end of it. the war lasted 6 yrs.. he would have bn 24 when he joined the Avengers assuming he didnt join between the war but at the start of the war.

"LordCosmicKing said:unless cap tooka few yrs of after being unfrozen the math dont add up, besides i would think the movie would be based on cap and his origin an not so much about his future adventures.."ha!! he is not he was 18 when he joined the army he fought in war world II frozen right before the end of it. the war lasted 6 yrs.. he would have bn 24 when he joined the Avengers assuming he didnt join between the war but at the start of the war."And in the official entry on Captain America in the official mavel handbook, it says he was in his mid thirties in the Avengers"
Even if it is the original, he would still be in his mid twenties.
He became Captain America before the USA joined the war, and then spent years training before he was first deployed. And he didn't get frozen until 1945, after having fought for three odd years.
imo i'd have to go with Matt Damon. he's shown that he can do great action scenes(bourne series) and he's got the acting skill to do Steve rodgers justice.
everyone mentioned so far would not even be in the running for the job. No one at Marvel would consider any of these picks. Also I hope whoever mentioned John Cena was joking.
no way could captain america be played by will smith but you know paul walker or leonardo de caprico might just be able to pull it off.
I take back my Brendan Fraser idea. I think John Barrowman (he's expressed interest in the role) or Matt Damon. Randy Orton from WWE would make a good Cap as well. Mark Wahlberg would be good (I wanted him to play Hal Jordan in the new Green Lantern film, but since that's out of the question he might as well have a shot at Cap).
I am casting my bid for Jensen Ackles... he has the right look ffor the Job, plus he is a pretty talented actor. Supernatural is a really good show and I think he has the screen presence to boss around Thor and Iron Man.
I want someone who can act for this role. This is a period piece set in the 1940s, so I want someone convincingly enough to do this. More importantly, when they do the Aengers movie whoever is playing that role has to keep the same mind set as a 1940s American in Modern Time. I can't stress how important this is for the Avengers Movie.
