    Hey guys!

I've been meaning to get into Cap for a few years now, but never really took the plunge.

I've now finally decided to do it.

Now i know that The Winter Soldier story through to Steve returning as Cap is supposed to be epic. So i just wondered what TPB's are essential and what is just filler? I would love to buy them all, but money is an issue. I know there's also omnibus', but its actually cheaper for me to buy the single trades.

So yeah, i just wonderd which of the following to buy and which to skip?

    The Winter Soldier TPB

    The Red Menace TPB

The Death of Captain America 1, 2 and 3 TPB

The Man with No Face TPB

    Road to Reborn TPB

    Captain America: Reborn TPB

    No Escape TPB

The Trial of Captain America TPB

    Prisoner of War TPB

Captain America and Bucky: Life and Death of Bucky Barnes TPB

Captain America and Bucky: Old Wounds TPB

    Thanks :-)

@neale7: try The Death of Captain America 1, 2 and 3 TPB, Captain America: Reborn TPB, for starters I guess, but it's really in the "eye of the beholder" as it were.

Also start getting the current volume of Captain America written by Brubaker it's really good.

Don't buy Road to Reborn. It's not worth the read.

Cheers guys. What about getting the Winter Soldier TPB, doesn't that bring Bucky back into the time frame? Is nothing worth it after Reborn apart from the current series then?

@neale7: Winter Soldier and Red Menace are definitely good. Everything up up through Man with No Face is great stuff. I didn't read past that, though.

I think the best ones are Winter Soldier through Death of Captain America 3, and the Life Story of Bucky Barnes (Cap and Bucky). The life of Bucky is really good if you want to start reading the Winter Soldier series which is my favorite current book. The first 35 or 40 issues of Brubaker's run is my favorite comic run ever.
