Enhanced to the pinnacle of human physical potential and armed with an unbreakable shield, he became Captain America. After a failed mission left him encased in ice for decades, he was found and revived by the Avengers, later joining their ranks and eventually becoming the team's leader.

    Superman's origin was retold before in Man of Steel and Birthright, while Batman's was once retold in Batman: Year One. I was wondering if Captain America's origin was ever retold outside of his first issue in the forties. All I do know is that Cap's origin was retold in Captain America #109 and in Captain America: Man Out of Time.

    Well... It was changed so that the scientist who made the supersoldier serum was German.

    Yes. It has been. In captain america: hail hydra an explanation for why he has more recently seem to be immune to everything the writers want him to be and why recently he's been called superhuman more often than peak, it was done in the form of him given a secondary serum that makes him immortal
