Synopsis
In a monastery in the Alps, Ch'Vayre, an Askani monk from the future, dwells on locating Apocalypse. He is visited by the astral form of the priestess Sanctity. She reminds him of his mission to see Cable's 'destiny' fulfilled, a mission the monk is reluctant to see through.
Having been tipped off about a potential terrorist attack by the Morlocks, Cable and Storm attend a Lila Cheney concert in a New York nightclub. Callisto and Marrow appear, which throws the crowd into a panic. Cable tries to calm things down by engaging the Morlocks, but the crowd begins to press and Storm succumbs to a claustrophobic attack. She unleashes a lightning charge and people scatter. Callisto and Marrow escape in the confusion, and somehow Lila continues singing through the pandemonium.
Outside, Callisto splits up and sends Marrow back in with a sound-sensitive bomb. Cable and Storm also split up. Cable reenters the club and finds Thornn, his Morlock informant. Marrow attacks and monologues how the bomb will explode once Lila hits her last high note of the final song. Cable uses his telepathy to warn Lila not to sing the one note.
Storm fights Callisto on the rooftop and Callisto monologues that there is a failsafe in the bomb, which is that it will detonate ten seconds after the music ends. Storm dutifully relays this telepathically to Cable, who tells Lila. Thornn has managed to find the bomb and Lila uses her power to transport the bomb to the other side of the galaxy. Callisto and Marrow escape in the confusion.
