With a nuclear weapon ready to blow in the heart of Genosha, Cable has to figure out how to stop it - and Sugar Man - at the same time! But it seems there's a sinister figure watching things unfold from the shadows!

Cable and Co. finally finds out who is really behind the Genoshan mutate bonding process. Sadly, they now only have sixty-seconds to get free of a nuclear reactor. Cable is able to disarm the device (in the nick of time) but then learns a bit more from Mr. Sinister about another being similar to Cable. Meanwhile, Dark Beast is delving into the lives of the X-Men.

    Synopsis

Feeling like he has no other option, Sugarman initiates a nuclear core meltdown. A computer voice tells Cable's group that they have 60 seconds to vacate the area. Cable leads the team on a mission to figure out how to shut the process down.

The Sugarman muses that Cable is not the Nate Grey he is looking for. Unknown to him, Mr. Sinister watches from the shadows and is intrigued that there may be another person with the same genetic template as Cable. Cable's crew bursts in and sees the grotesque image of the Sugarman. They blast him and Cable takes him on and seeks to probe his mind.

Elsewhere, and fresh off his defeat after trying to get Nate Grey, Dark Beast hacks into the Sugarman's database and begins downloading information on the X-Men. He is disappointed after seeing that there may be a member resembling himself but that the feed from the Sugarman is disrupted.

Back in Genosha, Sugarman throws Cable off and into the computers. Sugarman runs and Phillip Moreau follows to the roof. Jennifer Ransome follows but is dismayed to see the Sugarman grab Phillip, leap from the roof, and then disappear.

In the Sugarman's lab, Cable begins working through the system to shut down the core. Things look dire and he orders Pipeline to evacuate Jennifer and Domino to safety. Domino pulls a gun and orders Pipeline to just take Jennifer. Pipeline takes Jennifer to the Magistrate quarters. The other Magistrates are overjoyed to see the rebel brought in, but Pipeline informs them that they have all been duped and that some things are going to have to change if Cable succeeds.

Back in the Sugarman's lab, Cable reflects on the brief glimpses he had from the Sugarman's head in order to figure out a possible password. He types "S-U-G-A-R" and effectively shuts down the core with two seconds to spare. Mr. Sinister then shows up and informs Cable that there is another on Earth that is like Cable, but is not Cable. Mr. Sinister then teleports Cable and Domino home. Mr. Sinister then communicates to Threnody that he wants her to join him in finding a "Nate Grey".
