Cable and Domino head back to the future! It's a race against time as the two battle-hardened mutants fight to save the life of…Nathan Summers!?

Cable and Domino have gone to the future to save young Nathan's life from an attack by Stryfe. They discover an Askani traitor and recover the Professor, as well as Tetherblood, from Stryfe's armies.

Synopsis

Cable and Aliya arrive in the future - Cable's past - and realize that the only way to save a young Nathan Dayspring is through Stryfe's camp. As they edge closer to the enemy camp, Cable can't help but wonder how close he should allow himself to get to his no-longer-dead wife when Domino appears in a flash of light. Introductions are brushed off as Aliya heads into the trees to ensure that none of Stryfe's forces find them due to the light. She takes out one guard and puts on the robes. The trio continues moving and find two more guards that they dispatch; Cable and Domino don these robes. It's at this moment that Domino learns that Aliya is Cable's wife. The trio moves through Stryfe's camp; Cable only uses his telepathic powers to get past one wary guard.

In his tent, Stryfe sense an approaching danger. He turns to his captive, Tetherblood, and asks him again about the mysterious glowing light Stryfe has in a jar and how the light benefits Nathan Dayspring. Tetherblood, despite his haggard condition, refuses to help Stryfe.

Once through Stryfe's camp, Cable stops to rest. The trio is met by Korless and a band of rebels from the Clan Chosen. They are in awe at the sight of Cable. Cable does not remember Korless from his past, but, then again, he doesn't remember much from this time in his life due to being near death. They walk to the rebel camp and meet with Blaquesmith. Aliya walks Cable in to see his younger self while Domino tries to divine from Blaquesmith why his future self would have sent her to this time.

In the tent, Cable tries to reach into his younger mind but is repelled. Cable then focuses all his energy on finding an old companion that had always helped him. He finds him: the Professor, which is the glowing jar currently in Stryfe's hands. Cable informs the rebels of his plan to get the Professor back from Stryfe and Korless affirms that they clan is with him.

Realizing that he hasn't seen Domino for a while, Cable goes looking for her as the rebels get in place. He finds her preparing to snipe Stryfe. He stops her and guards are dispatched to get the two. Aliya begins an attack, which acts as enough of a distraction that Cable and Domino are able to get to Stryfe's tent and rescue Tetherblood and obtain the Professor. Before they can leave, however, Korless reveals himself to be a double agent. Cable takes this in stride and asks the Professor to bodyslide his friends to safety. Korless is left alone and Stryfe arrives to find all is lost due to Korless's failure. He kills him.

Back at camp, Cable and Blaquesmith bind the Professor to the young Nathan. With his task complete, Cable bids a very difficult goodbye to Aliya. He and Domino are sent back to the past.

The next day, a rejuvenated Nathan Dayspring leads the Clan Chose to victory over Stryfe's forces.
