Origin
It was revealed that Buzz Bannon had an unpleasant childhood, but what happened has not been told. This however did not stop Buzz from getting everything out of life. He joined the U.S. Army and became part of the special forces.
Creation
Buzz Bannon was created by Tom DeFalco and Ron Frenz and first appeared in The Buzz issue 1 (2000). Buzz Bannon has so far only appeared in the alternate reality of the MC2 Universe.
Major Story Arcs
Project Human Fly
Some time after Buzz had left the special forces, he was contacted by J. Jonah Jameson. Jameson wanted Buzz to become the star-pilot of a battle suit he named The Human Fly. Buzz accepted this and started training again in order to become fit and to eventually wear the battlesuit.
When Buzz was present at the official reveal of the battle suit, he encountered a young man named Jack Jameson, the grandchild of his boss J. Jonah Jameson. At first, Jack acted out against Buzz, but Buzz noticed something in the boy that reminded him of himself. Some days later, he took it upon himself to help the troubled Jack. Over the months, they became close friends, going to ballgames and talking about themselves and their troubles growing up.
Death
It was then that Buzz was requested to come by the lab where the battle suit was stored. Thinking it was finally time for him to become the heroic Human Fly, it was something else entirely. It turned out that one of the staff, Doctor Jade, had her own plans for the battlesuit. She and a number of armed guards had taken J. Jonah Jameson and his wife hostage and when Buzz arrived, he was requested to help her take the suit. If he refused, she would kill Jameson and his wife. Buzz played along for some time, but eventually took the oppritunity to fight the guards that escorted him when an alarm went off. In the insuing fight, Buzz managed to subdue the guards with help of the timely arrival of Jack and his friend Richie Robertson, but Buzz was shot. Jack and Richie helped Buzz up on his feed, but after he had escorted them to the battlesuit, Buzz died from his wounds. Grieving, Jack took the battle suit and swore revenge against the people that killed his close friend. In honor of Buzz, Jack did not call himself the Human Fly, but "The Buzz".
